Finally got my hands on some ELF brushes and a MASSIVE thank you to one of my fave bloggers!

Ive been wanting some ELF Brushes for a while now, after seeing some pretty good reviews about them on youtube. They were out of stock for what seemed like a lifetime though! Finally they came back into stock though and I managed to get the 3 I wanted which were the Complexion Brush, Powder brush and Eyeshadow C brush.

Has anyone else got these brushes? if so what do you think of them?

Also today I want to say a massive thank you to one of my favourite bloggers which is Paula @ Sweet Cheeks Beauty and Fashion. Paula came to my rescue after one of my fave lippies had a little accident and ended up in the loo haha. I was sooo gutted as I'd been after this Natural Collection Lipstick in Apple Blossom for AGES but whenever I went looking for it, it was always out of stock, until finally I managed to get the last one on the shelf. But then what goes and happens, I drop it down the loo :(

I then went looking again... and yep, couldn't find it anywhere. So I asked on twitter if anyone would mind checking their Boots for me and seeing if it was in Stock and Paula came to my rescue. She picked it up for me.. but boy is she stubborn haha she refused to take any payment off me and wouldn't paypal invoice me! Not only did she pick up my lipstick though, she also bought me a back up too! How sweet and thoughtful is that?!? I was so over the moon when her little parcel arrived with a cute little letter inside for me too. You're such a sweetheart Paula, never experienced such generosity before, I have more genuine nice friends online here in the blogging community that I do in real life! haha.

Here's a little pic of my 2 lippies and a massive thank you to you Paula. Love ya chick!

Review: Soap & Glory The Fab Pore Facial Peel.

Around 2 weeks ago I purchased Soap & Glorys The Fab Pore. This was my first Soap and Glory product along with the Super Eyes Eye Gel which I purchased at the same time, so I really had no idea what to expect. Although I had read quite a few good reviews for the Fab Pore, I had to bear in mind that what works for one person might not work for another.

First off I have no idea why its called a Facial Peel because to me that gives the impression that its one of them face mask what you peel off yourself, when really its nothing at all like that. As you can see by the pic below, its actually a thick cream like kind of substance, which smells minty kinda like toothpaste ha and its filled with little green beads. The texture is really nice and it spreads so easily. You don't need a great amount because of how spreadable it is, a little really does go a long way.

What are are them green beads exactly? well to be honest I have no idea ha. The instructions on the box say to rub the mask into the skin until the beads have fully disappeared. Which isn't a problem, they disappear really easily, no harsh rubbing is needed. The box also states to either leave the mask on for 5 minutes for a quick type of facial or for 15 minutes for a more intense one. Ive always left mine on for 15 minutes as I cannot see how a quick 5 minutes would do anything. Once on the skin it doesn't harder and go tight on your face like some other masks do, infact I once forgot I even had it on and left it on for 45 minutes haha.

So what exactly does it claim to do? Well it claims to unclog and tighten pores, mop up excess oil and smooth the skins surface, eventually helping to reduce the appearance of large pores and make them less noticeable. The main ingredients (taken from boots website) are:

■FOMES OFFICINALIS EXTRACT: A mushroom extract to tighten pores.

■SALICYLIC ACID: which loosens up the dead cells that contribute to pore clogging.

■KAOLIN: That’s ‘cosmetic’ for clay. It sops up extra oil on your skin and smoothes your skin’s surface!

■VITAMINS E & C: Antioxidants. Just because you’re oily, doesn’t mean you’re not aging.

So whats my verdict? Well Ive used this approximately 4 times up to now and I can honestly say I can see an improvement in my skin. I'm not going to say my pores have totally disappeared, because we all know that can't happen, the damage has already been done and they are there to stay, but I will say.. they do seem a lot tighter, not so noticeable, especially the ones around my nose and on my firehead. This is probably because I seem to focus more on these parts when using the mask. It gives the skin a really nice smooth look and feel after using it and gives it a light exfoliation. This is a product that needs to be used regularly though as it doesn't have any long term benefits, to see the benefits it does need to be used 2-3 times a week, as if only used maybe once a week.. which I did the first week... my pores were back to normal after 3 days or so, so it does need continuous use. This doesn't bother me as I like to use a mask and exfoliate a couple of times a week anyway, so this does both jobs for me at once.

Will I re-purchase? Definitely. Not only does it makes my face feel so clean and fresh afterwards, like a normal mask would, it also exfoliates at the same time... plus helps to minimise the appearance of my pores. So for me to benefit in different ways from one products is something I'm really happy with. Plus for only £5.88 from boots, I'm getting a 3 way product for such a cheap price and as I don't have to use a great amount, I can see the tub lasting me at least 2 months.

So have you tried the Fab Pore Facial Peel? Let me know what you ladies think.

Todays buys - Sleek Graphite Palette and a few other bits n bobs

I popped out today only intending to pick up Sleeks new Palette... but a few other things came my way that I wanted too hehe.

As soon as I saw a preview of the new Palette a few weeks back, I knew I had to have it. I'm sure nearly every one of you owns a Sleek Palette so you know how good these shadows are for the price. This one is perfect for me aswell as I'm a smokey eye lover. It contains all the right colours to create the perfect smokey eye.

Without Flash:

With Flash:

I also picked up some Bourjois 1001 CILS Mascara. I poted about needing a new cheap mascara a few weeks ago, and totally forgot to tell you what I bought. Well I ended up picking up a Collection 2000 one, and well.. I don't like it one bit.. so I picked up the Bourjois one today in Superdrug. It was on offer for around £6. I also got some Nivea cream just to slap on at night ha and a couple of dress rings from George at Asda. One in silver and one in Gold. I then went into Poundland and picked up a cute little vase thing, which Im gunna use for my make up brushes.

Let me know what you think of the new Palette and also if you've tried the Bourjois Mascara that I bought.

Thanks Ladies..

Make up storage...

I love seeing how all you other Ladies store your make up and beauty products, so I thought I'd do my own post. So here's the bit of my room where I stand every morning and try and make myself look human enough to face the world haha.

I was so sick of having make up bags, rooting around in them to find and simple eyeliner or something which was stuck right at the bottom, so I bought my pink and black drawers a few months back from WH Smith and they were the best thing I've ever bought! Its so easy now to find everything I need. I keep all the make up in them that I reach for the most on a daily basis. There are 6 drawers in total, 3 small ones on top, 2 meduim in the middle and a large one at the bottom. The 3 small ones hold Lipsticks, Blushes/Bronzers, and Mascara/Eyeliners. The 2 middle ones hold my Foundations and my Shadows and Palettes and the large bottom is where all my skincare products are. Moisturiser, Eye Cream, Serum, Lipbutters etc. The little round boxes, I picked up in Poundland for £1 and they hold my nail polishes. Also I have my 2 perfumes of the moment, Marc Jocobs Lola (my evening/weekend scent) and Lacoste Touch of Pink (my daytime scent, nothing fancy for when Im changing nappies and covered in baby food all day. I use this more like a body spray ha, I go through loads of it) To the left, you can just about see the start of a mirror... its HUGE haha and I didn't wanna catch myself in it taking the pic :P but thats where I apply my make up. Cannot work with a tiny mirror, I like to stand up plus I feel like I can't see what Im doing properly in a tiny mirror.

I also have these 3 storage boxes. They hold my other bits of make up and skincare products that I don't tend to reach for so much. Or the bits I buy but stop using them for a while because Ive found something else I like, so I stick them in here and only keep the ones Im wearing for the moment or always rely on, in my pink and black drawers.

I think Ill make this into a tag too, so if you've read this... consider yourself tagged and get taking some pics of your little make up area and storage hehe.

My first FOTD .... be gentle with me!

...... Ok.. I'm doing it, I'm posting my first FOTD.

Ill give a quick run down of the products I used today, not going to go into much detail as I don't think anybody would be particularly interested in my boring look haha. But you never know.. one day I might surprise you all and surprise myself and branch out of my comfort zone of smokey eyes, nude lips... and post a pic with bright colours! But that's only a very slight might haha.

My camera batteries were dead so had to use my phone and the quality is really bad. Sorry :( Oh and never mind my hair...its my "place it as far up as I can, so Harvey doesn't pull it" look. And I didn't mean to actually close my eyes on the second one.. but o'well suppose it shows the eye make up. My nose looks incredibly dark for some reason too hmmmmm.

Products used: Sleek palette, Revlon Colorstay,  YSL Touch Eclat under my eyes, GOSH Darling and a Rimmel Blush.

You'll never guess where I went today?!?!!?

............ Sadly nowhere special haha, just Boots and Superdrug AGAIN. One of them shops needs to offer me residence as I spend so much fricken time there!

I had an excuse today though.. I'd ran out of my usual cleanser so I needed a new one. I've been using No.7 cleanser and toner for a while now, as mentioned in my skincare routine post a while back. I do really like them both but I get bored easily and always wonder if something else out there is better. So off I headed to the drugstores.

I've been hearing a lot lately about Superdrugs own Vitamin E range, read a few good reviews etc so thought I'd give the cleanser a try. I also picked up the eye make up remover pads too.

I've also had no Serum for a while now.. and my routine just hasn't been feeling complete without putting some serum on before my moisturiser. Ive used No.7 Protect and Perfect for years and never been tempted to try anything else, but after using a few Soap & Glory products especially the eye cream which Im really liking, I thought I'd give the Make Yourself Youthful Super Rejuvenating Face Serum a try. Not only is this cheaper than my usual No.7 serum, Soap and Glory was started by Bliss spa's founder Marcia Kilgore - you know you're getting something that is good quality.

Also while at Boots, I wanted to take a look at some more of their Natural Collection Products. I was so impressed with the last Lipstick that I bought from there, that I wanted to try another and I also wanted to try a a few Blushes. So I picked up a Lipstick in Rose Petal and 2 blushes in Pink Cloud and Rosy Glow

Have you ladies tried any of the products I bought? If so what did you think?

Most worn tag...

Harveys fast asleep, so Ive got time to do this little tag I saw on Katy's blog Rottenotters thoughts. Katy first saw this tag done on a video but shes changed it to work on blogger as she doesn't do videos. I love reading things like this. So I thought I'd do my most worn and also tag a few people hehe. The rules are pretty simple.. just list your most worn:

1) Lipstick/ lipgloss

2) Earrings

3) Shirt

4) Nail polish

5) Shoes

6) Hair product

7) Perfume

8) Handbag/ purse.

And then tag 5 people to do the same and let them know on their blog. So here goes...

Most worn Lipstick - This has to be GOSH Darling. I adore this, and reach for it near enough everyday. Its the perfect nude for me and I love the formulation of it of it too. It doesn't dry out on my lips and is nice and creamy to apply.

Most worn earrings - Well I actually don't wear earrings
that much to be honest. Harvey always wants to pull them out when I wear them, so unless I wanna be left with half an ear I leave wearing them. The only time I do.. is if Ive got a night out planned and then I just buy a new pair, so yeah I don't really have a most worn pair :(

Most worn Shirt - Right now it has to be my beige slouchy off the shoulder jumper from ASOS. Love this soooo much, perfect for this time of year with leggings and my UGGs. Hers an incredibly shit pic of me wearing it ha!

Most worn Nail Polish - I buy a few nail polishes each week at the mo haha, they're my lil' obsession, but I suppose the one that never fails and works with anything is my Barbara Daly one. Its a lot darker than the pic though.

Most worn Shoes - My UGGs hehe. Love these babys. Soooooo comfy, can push Harveys pram for hours with these on haha.

Most worn Hair Product - Well as my hairs so long I always tie it up during the week, and only really wear it down if Im going out, so the product I use most is Hairspray I suppose. Which is Aussie High Hold & High Shine.

Most worn Perfume - Well I bought Marc Jacobs Lola the other day and that could easily be my most worn... if I let it ha. But I always save my special perfumes and just wear the same one during the days, which is Lacoste Pink.

Most worn Handbag/Purse - I change the bag I use so often, I'm constantly reaching for a different worn, so Ill do my most worn purse, which is my DKNY one. Love this so much, I used to change my purses like I change my bags, but ever since I bought this one.. Ive used it non stop.

So there are my "most worn".

I tag:

Charly @ Charly Sparkles

Juicygirl @ Juicygirl

Leanne @ Do not Refreeze

A lil' update.....

Well its not like me to go a few days and not post anything or comment on any posts. All Ive managed is a few tweets here and there, so I just thought I'd update you all with why I haven't been blogging the past few days.

My gorgeous baby boy is poorly :(  he's full of the flu, I feel so sorry for him. I'm sure you ladies know how hard the flu hits, so its even worse when you're only 10 months old and can't blow your own nose or bring up any of the phlegm off your chest :(. Its really hit him hard. I took him to the docs today..as I was worried he might have had a chest infection.. but he was given the all clear on that, thankfully. Hes hardly eating or drinking though, or even playing with his little toys like he loves too :( hate seeing him poorly.

I should be back with my regular postings in a few days or too. Hope you are all well.. and having a nice weekend.

*hugs*

Mekong.... Oh how Ive wanted you for sooooo long!

...... And I finally got it!!!! I've been wanting this ever since the first time I saw it on Michelle's blog Lipstick Rules. It was instant love and Ive just never got round to getting it. I was planning to get it from Selfridges last week... but while on the NARS website I noticed they were giving away a mini lipgloss duo with any purchase, so I thought I'd order it online instead get my free gift.

So today my little black box come and typical me ripped it open like it was Christmas haha (I get so excited over stupid little things.)

Here is it.. in all its glory. As you can see I couldn't resist a little swatch to show my mum it was worth the £15 I paid for it.. as she was moaning, like mums do.

Have any of you ladies purchased Mekong? if so what did you think?

A big thank you to Emma....

I just want to say thank you to the lovely Emma over @ Computergirls Musings.

Emma awarded me with the Beautiful Blogger award. I always break a huge smile when someone gives me a blogger award, its truly does mean a lot to me. When I started Blogging I never ever thought anybody would be interested in my ramblings...I just thought it would be a place for me to write about the things I love and give myself a little hobby and something to do. So to actually receive awards from people who enjoy what I've got to say is so nice.

So thank you Hunny... much appreciated!

Batiste for Brunettes.

You know we all love Batiste right girls? Its the little life saver in a can.. as I like to call it. You wake up...you think "damn... knew I should have washed my hair last night" but we don't panic, not when we can just give our locks some Batiste action! Or maybe that's just me and everyone else washes their hair when they know they should haha.

Anyway... while browsing ASOS last week... I spotted Batiste for Brunettes! I'm probably really late with this and you've all probably got some ha!.. but still it excited me so I just had to get a can.

So it arrived today.. think I ordered it on Thursday. ASOS are normally so quick with my orders, I usually get my stuff the next day... but its probably these damn postal strikes. So yeah it came today and well I only washed my hair last night so even though I wanted to try it so much today, I'm gonna wait till its a bit greasy and still how it I get on with it. It has the same formula as the original batiste but add a hint of colour too, so mo more white residue. Sounds good to me! I'll keep you updated with how I get on with it.

Have any of you fellow brunettes tried this yet? if so what did you think?

Goodies courtesy of Sarah @ I heart Cosmetics. ♥

Who's a lucky girl eh? Yep its me! hehe.

This morning the postman brought me a lovely little parcel from the even lovelier Sarah, over @ I heart Cosmetics, containing a gorgeous Zoya Nail Polish and a tub of Purity anti-aging mask & serum. Now there is a little story behind how Ive ended up with these Items....

Last week Sarah contacted me and ask me would I be interested in being a guest blogger on her blog, and do a review of a Zoya Nail Polish. Of course I jumped at the chance! Its such a fantastic idea and will make a change for Sarah's followers to be able to read a review from another person, something a bit different isn't it? I was so touched that Sarah asked me to do this. Its also fantastic for me as Ive really got an obsession at the moment with Nail Polishes, so I'm excited to try out Zoyas Nail Polish as I never have before. So make sure you keep your eyes peeled ladies for my up and coming review over @ I heart cosmetics, the gorgeous Sarah's blog.

So how did I end up getting a tub of Purity anti-aging mask & serum? you're probably wondering. Well a couple of days ago.. Sarah did a fantastic review on this product and also on the Regenerating Overnight Moisturiser from Purity, which you can read HERE. I read the review and after reading how both products have worked for Sarah skin, I was really interested in purchasing the anti-aging mask and serum (Im 28... I need as much anti-aging stuff as possible! haha). So I left a comment asking Sarah did she think it would be suitable for my skin etc. Sarah replied and offered to send me a sample of the product... but Nooo Mr. Postman didn't just bring me a sample.. he brought me a whole tub!!!!! :D I was soooo surprised when I opened my package to find that inside, it was so generous of Sarah to do that for me and so thoughtful, I was touched.

I just want to say a BIG thank you Sarah, your kindness and thoughtfulness is so much appreciated and you really made me smile this morning.

Oh and Ladies... make sure you keep an eye out for the up and coming review on the Zoya Nail Polish!

Hope you're all having a lovely day... even though the weather is miserable, well it is in Manchester anyway. Typical!

*Hugs*

Me and Barry M are officially firm friends (NOTD)

Why have I never tried Barry M Nail Paints before?!!?!? Well actually the answer to that is probably because I haven't had paintable nails for that long ha, but now I have... what an obsession it is becoming!

You're probably wondering what the hell Im doing painting my nails at 12.20am aswell. Well Ive got a good answer for that one too! haha. Kids are fast asleep, Im wide awake, when really I should be fast asleep too... but meh, nails are more important :P hehe.

So anyway onto the nails. I picked up my first Barry M Nail Paint in Superdrug the other day. The colour I got was Vivid Purple and well... its love already. No need for 4 coats like yesterdays NOTD this baby applied like a dream. After 2 coats here are the results...

Ooops that index finger could do with a clean up.

Thought I'd throw a blurry pic in there too haha.

So anyway what you thinking Ladies? hows the colour? and what do you think of Barry M Nail Paints?
