Katie Price - Standing out. (A bit picture heavy)

I not sure if any of you Ladies are a fan of Katie Prices, but Ive always liked her, been interested in her style, her make up etc, so I was pleased when I received her book for Christmas - Katie Price Standing out, off my 2 boys.

The book seems to mainly focus on how her style has changed over the years, which is a bit disappointing as most of the pictures in the book are not so private, most have been published in various magazines over the years anyway. There are the odd few private ones, but not as many as I would have liked.

There's 12 chapters in all. Most of which seem to talk more about her life and how her style has changed. She talks about her style when pregnant, her alter ego Jordan, the style she and Pete had, the kids style etc. The 2 chapters that I headed straight for were Chapter 11- Hair and Make up and Chapter 12 - Beauty. I was really hoping for most of a personal in depth read about her make up and beauty routine, instead of just what brands she likes to use etc. Most of the tips and tricks of the trade which she did add in the book, were tips and tricks that most of us Ladies know, and go by anyway.

Also its never actual pics of her applying her own make up, its always a pic where you can see somebody else hand applying it. Which is a bit disappointing too. I mean yeah I obviously know she has her own make up artist, but I thought she'd show a bit of how she does her own day to day make up.

I did also spot a fairly big mistake in the book, which is when shes talking about her favourite nail polishes. One picture actually shows a totally different nail colour to the one shes describing.

I did enjoy reading her Beauty must haves. I suppose I was expecting a lot of high end products, but most were actually products affordable for most of us.

Although it does seem like I'm slating this book a little, I did actually really enjoy reading it. Its great to sit down with a nice cuppa and have a read. I was just a little disappointed with certain aspects of the book.

MAC "Pink Swoon" Blush

I thought I'd do a quick review of the blush I received as a gift at Christmas. I originally didn't intend to get Pink Swoon, but the Blush I did want was out of stock on the website. Gareth would be completely lost at a MAC counter going to pick the Blush I did want, so it was safer for him to order online and Pink Swoon caught my eye, which is a Sheertone Blush.

As I like a Natural glow, MAC Sheertone Blushes are perfect for that. The colour goes on very subtle and is easy controllable and blendable. They can also be easily layered for a more intense look. Pink Swoon is perfect for us fairer Ladies out there, as its not too dark or heavy and really does give that Natural glow finish. Its a gorgeous pink which I think is suitable for any occasion, as its so buildable, it can easily be built up for a more intense party night time look.

Overall I'm really glad I chose Pink Swoon, it suits me perfectly and Ive been reaching for it daily since I received it Last Friday.

What are your favourite MAC Blushes?

Christmas at our house and Beauty Related Presents.

Hey Ladies...

I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas. Mine was hectic haha, but I wouldn't want it any other way. Anton wouldn't sleep at all on Christmas eve, until I told him at 2am if he didn't go to sleep I was cancelling Christmas, had to be done ha, he soon went to sleep. He slept in till 8.30am as well then haha, which was good as I thought he'd have me up at 6. Poor little Harvey didn't have a clue what was going on, he just loved it when his daddy helped him open another present and he kept seeing new toys, he was a bit overwhelmed.

Anyway onto the beauty related presents I received. This year me and Gareth decided that we wasn't going to spend a lot on each other. With having two kids now, plus everyone else who we have to buy for, we decided that we didn't need to splash out on each other at Christmas and to just focus on the kids, they are the main thing and to me that's what Christmas is all about. As Long as my boys are happy and get everything they wanted, then I'm happy.

Here's the beauty related products Gareth got me.

A few items I wanted from MAC, Victor and Rolf Flowerbomb 50 ml Eau de Parfume,  No7 Protect and Perfect Intense Beauty Serum (my fave serum ever) and Origins A Perfect World for Eyes.

Because he spent over £20 on No.7 (he got me a few Nail Polishes too) I always received this free make up bag with some little no.7 treats in it.

My two gorgeous sons bought me a new dressing gown, some slipper boots and the Katie Price "Standing out" book. Haven't put it down yet! ha.

I got other bits and bobs too and money from my Parents

Here's a couple of pics of my boys on Christmas Morning. Big smiles from Anton, notice how my cat Sly just had to get in on the action too.

There was no way Harvey was taking his eyes off his presents to look at the camera haha. Sly still wanted in on the action too, them white lines on the pic are his whiskers!

All the best for 2010 Ladies... I hope you all welcome the new year in, in style.

Much Love...

NOTD - Barbara Daly - "Whimsy"

I've always liked Barbara Dalys range of make up for Tesco, and have quite a few of her Polishes. I picked up a couple more the other day one of them was this one. I decided I've been wearing a lot of dark shades lately, so I wanted something more Neutral, and this fits the bill perfect. Each picture is 2 coats and a top coat. (Once again.. ignore my poorly finger :( I think I may be getting an infection now)

If you haven't tried any Barbara Daly Polishes yet, I recommend you do. They retail at around £4.50 and are available from Most Tescos.

I doubt I'll squeeze in another post before Christmas day now, so I'd just like to wish all my followers and all my readers a very Merry Christmas. I hope you all have a truly fantastic time.

Review: Soap and Glory Girligo® Body Moisturising Mist

When I purchased my my Soap and Glory hat box the other day, this was one of the items I was most eager to try out, as when it comes to body moisturising I can admit I am a bit lazy so I like the idea of just being able to spray something on, give it a little rub in and be done ha. Basically something quick and efficient. The Girlingo Body mist appealed to me because its a product that does just that.

The spray comes in a long thin pump action bottle, and with all Soap and Glory products, it looks very stylish on my bathroom shelf.

The directions for use are: "Spritz Soap and Glory Girligo® Body Moisturising Mist on all over post shower for temptingly fragrant, softer, smoother, more supple skin. Scented with a tempting blend of begamot, peach, strawberry, jasmine, mandarin and musk".

My thoughts - First off the fact that its a spray is perfect for me, like already stated I can be lazy with body moisturising, or sometimes I just haven't got the time, with 2 kids... all I get time for really is a quick shower. So this is perfect, its quick and easy to use and gets the job done. When using the product, it dispenses just the right amount nice and evenly, ready to just give a quick rub in and you're done. The smell is absolutely amazing, the most cleanest, freshest smell ever. I'm constantly sniffing my arms when Ive used it ha. Its not a scent that leaves the skin not long after the product has been applied either, it lingers on the skin for hours afterwards. It also does a fantastic job at softening my skin as well.

Overall - A fantastic product, easy and quick to use, does a good job at moisturising my skin and smells divine.

Festive Tag.

I saw this over on Me + Make up = Love Affairs blog, and thought it'd be fun to do.

Favorite Colour -  Brown, Yep.. brown ha. I love anything brown, make up, clothes, shoes, nail polish. Just anything.

Facebook? - Hell no! Used to have it a while ago, but I detest it now. I like my life private.

Favourite Christmas song? - I'm gonna be really un-festive here and say I don't actually have a favourite. All Christmas songs seem to make me emotional for some reason.

Christmas Tree - real or fake? - Fake, real ones are messy and bare looking.

Hottest Celebrity?- Hmmmmm.. tough one. Probably Channing Tatum.

Favorite Restaurant? - Don't particular have a favourite. We tend to eat out at different places. Favourite takeaway food is Indian though.

Favourite magazine? - I read them all ha. Marie Clare, Glamour, Company etc.. you get the drift.

Favourite holiday drink? - Gotta be cheesy and say Bucks Fizz! haha.

Favourite Christmas movie? - I love any Christmas movie. They all make me feel warm and cosy inside.

If you've read this Ladies... you've been tagged!!!!!

NOTD - OPI "Holiday Glow"

One word comes to mind as I sit here typing this and looking at my nails... and that is STUNNING I just love it! I'm so glad I chose this, from the second I saw it this morning when it was delivered I just couldn't wait to get it on my nails.

The description given for it is "Charcoal grey glowing with a touch of silver" and I can honestly say, its nothing like that at all, whoever was looking at it and written that description obviously didn't have their glasses on, because on my nails its a really dark brown, with tiny gold and silver glitter particles. (I'm really not good with nail lingo, I just say it how I see it haha) It really is stunning. I did need 3 coats though, I could have got away with 2 coats, but it still looked a bit sheer and its worth applying 3 coats anyway because the end result is just perfect. Very sophisticated looking.

(please ignore my poorly finger :( its so sore and hurts :( haha.. might as well get the violins out)

I couldn't manage to capture this polish in all its glory sadly, so these 2 pictures are the best out of a bad bunch.

I'm pleased to say my first experience with OPI has gone with a bang though.. and I cannot wait to try my second polish out.

Thanks for reading Ladies..

Anyone fancy a POP palette? (giveaway)

Well as you know, I recently ordered the POP Pin Up Palette from ASOS. Unfortunately when I received it though, one of the shadows was broke, so ASOS kindly sent me another one, and told me there was no need to return the original one. So Ive decided that I'm going to give the second Palette away, as I can live with not having one of the shadows in the original Palette and theres no point me having 2 really is there.

Ive also decided to throw in a few items that I've only used once. Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation. L'oreal Renewal Lash Serum, BYS Nail Polish. As I said these Items have only been used once, the foundation dried a bit dark for me, the serum I just got lazy with and applied it once at night, then just basically forgot and the nail polish well I just have too many of the same shade.

So if you fancy being in with a chance of winning, the rules are pretty simple, you must be a follower of my blog.. as this is a giveaway for my followers and just write "Enter me" in the comments below. If you do fancy spreading the word, feel free and you'll be given an additional entry, but this is not compulsory. Just remember to tell me in your comment that you have posted my giveaway on your blog though, so I can enter you twice. New followers are welcome to enter.

The winner will be announced a week today, so thats December 23th and Ill be posting just after Christmas.
Good Luck Ladies!!!!

Review: ELF Mineral Lip Liner in Brown.

I purchased this at the same time as I purchased the Mineral eyeliner. I went for brown, as I tend to wear a lot of beige colour lipsticks and this is the only colour lip liner my lips seem to work well with. Do not for one minutes think I have a huge brown line round my lips though.. and concealer lips haha, because I don't. My lip line is very very faint, hardly noticeable in fact, but I know its there.

The packaging is the same as the eye liner, with a twist up applicator. Again this pleased me straight away.

What ELF say: "The soft and silky formula glides onto lips to create a luscious shine without feeling sticky or tacky. The sheer tint of color is the perfect hue to give you a beautiful and natural glossy look. Infused with key vitamins A & E to protect and moisturize your lips. All our mineral makeup is 100% mineral based with no parabens, no preservatives and no chemical dyes"

What Jo says: As with the eyeliner, I was pleased to find the Lip Liner also has a twist up applicator. This will always be a bonus in my book. One thing I can never find is my sharpener. I was a bit worried about how brown the colour would actually be, as you can never be sure about swatches when ordering online and you have to be careful when using a brown Lip Liner or else you will end up with a dark tacky looking Lip Line. I was so pleased though to find its actually a really subtle brown, the perfect shade for me. ELF was true to their word as well, it really is very soft and silky and glides onto the lips. It doesn't look dry which some lip liners can or harsh. There's no complaints from me with regards to its staying power either.

Overall: If you're on the look out for a cheap and inexpensive Lip Liner that does what its supposed to do, look natural, nice soft texture, not harsh, long lasting, then give this one a go.

Thanks for reading....

Can't beat good customer service.

Doesn't it make you smile so much when you receive good customer service. I ordered the POP Pin Up Palette off ASOS on Friday and it was delivered today, I opened it all excited only to find one of the shadows was broke :(

I contacted Customer Service through their website and explained the situation. I was contacted back within the hour, and told a replacement will be sent out to me and there was no need for me to send back the original palette.

Fantastic customer service. I order frequently from ASOS and have never had any problems. Its so reassuring though to know that if a problem arises it will be sorted immediately. Not only is ASOS the number one online shop in my eyes, its customers are their number one priority too.

Pics and swatches of the palette coming soon!!!

Feeling festive again. NOTD - Rimmel 60 Seconds - Movie Star.

First off I have to say how Impressed I am with Rimmel Polishes. For the price, they are really good quality polishes and the pictures you'll see below are all one coat.

Movie Star is so much more suited to me than my previous festive NOTD, which featured Barry M Red Glitter. Its a lot more subtle with very tiny particles of glitter. It applied like a dream and one coat was all I needed.

Any thoughts Ladies?
