False Eye Lashes - Do you flutter?

I love the look false eye lashes create.  How they add more depth to the eyes and more definition and ideal for when a woman wants to feel glamorous. I think they add a whole new look to a woman. Mascara alone will never give the effect false eye lashes give.

In the past Ive always had trouble applying false eyelashes. I always thought that to practice I would buy a cheap pair and just learn to apply them, then when I've learnt the technique, I would buy a decent pair. This however is where I've always been going wrong. I always found they wouldn't stick properly, were really fiddly to apply etc and I just assumed I've never be able to master the application of false lashes. However at weekend, I bought my first decent pair and have had absolutely no trouble applying them. They went on like a dream. I was a bit pissed with myself as Ive spent so many years messing about with cheap eyelashes to learn the application technique, when really all I needed to do why buy a good decent pair.

So how do you Ladies feel about false lashes? do you wear them? how often? Daily, weekends, special occasions only?

  1. I love lashes but don't often wear them out, I'm more inclined to whack a pair on when I'm at home playing about with makeup and I do a bold look that just looks crap without them! Hehe. Yeah I made the same mistake as you with the cheap option thing - but the Illamasqua lashes I have are seriously amazing! xo

  2. That's really encouraging! If I hadn't read that I'd have probably gone the same route with cheap ones first. I'm saved from it however because I bought my first pair on the Illamasqua stand at the IMATS. I'm just waiting for a quiet time to have ago. x

  3. Mac ones are gorgeous - I used to use the ones you get from Boots etc but they don't compare. My favourites are the the 7 lashes and the Duo glue is ace!

I am interested in Models Own and Illamasqua lashes but I'm a bit reluctant without seeing them in the flesh first.

  4. I tried with some Ardells a few months ago and I failed.. I haven't tried ever since lol.. I was dissapointed. I've seen soooo many tutorials on how to do it that when I could not do it I was sooo upset.. I've been thinking on trying again.. they look so pretty

  5. I love the effect of full lashes.. I find that armed with about 3 different types of mascara and alot of willpower it can be achieved ;) And I usually opt for that rather than lashes cos like you, I'd buy ultra cheap version to 'practice' with and they wouldn't work and I'd feel like a complete fool..because EVERYBODY wear fake lashes *sigh*

  7. I like falsies but I'm not really into wearing them ALL the time. I actually don't need them everyday if I have a good mascara. I just end up using them when I get all dolled up (if I'm not lazy :P).

When I started of course I failed. Or what happens is that I put one on perfectly but the other eyelash is weird looking!

  10. I could not agree more. I started off with lashes from pound shop, and those stupid lashes from nyc at superdrug, and could never get them right. Basically, where I had the most trouble with was with the curvature (does this word even exists) of them. They would stay straight, not adjust the natural curve of the eye and always poke out and could never stick them right. Until the day I spent £5 in a pair of lashes (which i thought as the time it was like really really extravagant). Now I find that £5 for a pair of lashes is really affordable, especially when I choose a model which I can re use many times. Fantastic blog, this is a post I would have liked to create myself. I need to tweet about it, I need to shout about it across the roof tops. Being able to put falsies on, has made my makeup confidence by 200%, and I could never imagine a going out /evening makeup without them.

Where I was going wrong as well, I would never wait enough for the glue to get tacky, and not trim them enough, and put them too close to the inner corner. God I was so rubbish before!!!

  11. I love love love the look of false lashes. But I'm not rich enough to wear them everyday, my favourites are MAC 8s. If I could I would but I agree about the mascara thing. If I could only have one eye product it would be lashes.
