Lush - The Sacred Truth Anti Aging Face Mask.

While in Lush the other week, the Sales assistant kindly offered me a free face mask. Me being me I obviously chose the anti aging one - The Sacred Truth.

"The Sacred Truth is for people facing the facts and accepting the beginnings of their wrinkles, whilst still wanting to make the best of themselves without resorting to extreme (and expensive) measures. The refreshing, revitalising Sacred Truth mask contains massive amounts of fresh food for the face to soften, moisturise and give your skin a boost. It is packed with fresh antioxidant wheat grass, ginseng and green tea to protect against free radicals."

I try to use a face mask as often as I can, usually around twice a week once the kids are in bed and I get time to relax. I'd previously never tried any of the Lush ones, so I was eager to try this out.

It comes in a small 75g black tub, which is to be kept in the fridge to keep it cool and because of the fresh ingredients it has to be used by the use by date printed on the tub, which in my case was a month from the date of it being made.

The product itself is an olive green colour and nice and thick in texture. It has a pleasant smell to it, which isn't too over powering.

Once applied to my skin it is a bit cold because its obviously just come out of the fridge, but this seems to really sooth my face. It can be applied as thick or as thinly as desired. It does start to dry a bit once on for a few minutes, but it doesn't feel uncomfortable or begin to crack like other face masks Ive used have. I also felt a slight tingling feeling, which I assume is the natural ingredients getting to work. It removes nice and easily with a warm flannel and water.

Results:

This has to be one of the best face masks I have tried. My skin felt amazing after use. No hint of tightness, just a really soft glowing completion and I was extremely pleased with the results. It was a lovely treat for my sometimes troubled skin and as its anti aging, it also offers a lot of benefits in terms of prevention. I will definitely be re-purchasing.

Have you tried The Sacred Truth mask? or any other Lush face mask?

  2. Hunny... its all about prevention!!! Im nearly 29, the longer I can prevent them wrinkles the better. Once they are there, theres no getting rid, so no point starting when its too late haha.

  10. I have this one in my fridge at the moment as well and although I like the end results of The Sacred Truth, I dont like the itchy feeling it gives my skin while on. If you haven't tried Ayesha yet, TRY IT! Ayesha is 10X's better!

  12. I've tried several Lush masks, though not this one. I hate to say it, because I know Lush is everyone's darling right now, but I haven't been very impressed with any of them. Tali mentioned thinking that the blueberry mask wasn't that gentle- I'd agree. Unfortunately, it's designed to calm skin, but it's really very drying. I made the mistake of using my normal glycolic toner after using it the first time, and my face burned for literally an hour or so! As much as I love Lush's concept, I think where facial skin is concerned, I'm sticking to more "technological" brands.

  14. The Sacred Truth is amazing. But I love all the masks from Lush. I rotate them depending on how my skin feels! I have enough empty black pots to last me a lifetime!
