By now I'm sure you've all been aware of the new make up trend that's been gracing the catwalks, Two Toned Lips created by MAC make up artist Tom Pecheux for the Emanuel Ungaro show. Glamour magazine reported that Tom admitted that the style was 80's inspired and the way to make it more in line with today is to team the lips with a bare looking face....

Personally I loved the look on the models, but theres no way I'd ever consider trying it out on myself. For me its just too much of a bold statement. Even though paired with a bare fair its still too much for me. Plus I prefer my eyes to make the statement and keep my lips nude.
So what are your thought on the two toned lips look? Would you consider wearing this look out in public? as an every day look or maybe just a party look? or should it just be left on the catwalks?

I think I might go for it...I like making statements! And it looks really cool :D x
ReplyDeleteI love this look, i've worn it out in the daytime a few times and i think it's just so fun and quite flattering
ReplyDeleteOh, I would definitely leave it just for the catwalks. I cannot imagine myself going out in that look. Actually, I don't think it is pretty.
ReplyDeleteThis should be kept for the catwalk I think! I love wearing a bold lip, but just in the one colour! I can't really see this catching on
ReplyDeleteI agree, this looks good on the cat walk but I wouldn't wear it. It will take some time before you see people walking down the street like it!

I think it can be pulled off on the runway because we've seen crazier makeup looks but not in real life.
ReplyDeleteEw - heck no!! hahaha
ReplyDeleteI don't know how this would work for me since I tend to rub my lips together throughout the day. It's not really practical IMO...

I think this is one of those looks that doesn't really translate well off the runway! It looks amazing in magazines though..I'll stick to living voraciously through the models tyvm :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with you - it looks quite pretty but I don't think it's actually that wearable...
ReplyDeleteI like it but I'd end up rubbing my lips together and the colours would mix anyway! Doh.. x
ReplyDeleteI agree with you hun, I think its a cool idea but I wouldnt be brave enough to wear it out!xx
ReplyDeleteMy lips are naturally two toned and I spend my life trying to make them uniform!
ReplyDeleteI'm the same as you - I think that looks gorgeous and those two colours work together so well! But I doubt I would ever sport this look, not quite that daring with my lips - I'm only just mastering the perfect nude for my skin tone!! xo
ReplyDeletelooks fab on the models gracing the catwalks not sure about it for a day time or even a night time look lol think i will be sticking to the one colour look xox
ReplyDeleteagree. suits her but would deffo not wear it. i do prefer as well bold eye makeup. also in the real world, what happens if you rub your lips together? x
ReplyDeleteFor Catwalk it's perfect...
ReplyDeleteThis is one trend I think I will definitely let others dip in and try. My lips are much too full to rock a two toned look. PASS!
ReplyDeleteThat's interesting...But i'm affraid i won't be able to pull that off... Too scary :D
ReplyDeleteOoft, this is hot! I'm so gonna try this when it's a little warmer =P. I love bold lips and it's nice to stand out =). XXX
ReplyDeleteI may try this on a night I'm going out... Definitely not in bright daylight thouhg, I am not that bold!
ReplyDeletex
i cant see anyone pulling this off apart from lady gaga

<3**
it should really be a cat walk only look but i might try it to see how many ppl notice lol :)
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's for everyday wear. It's bold and pretty, but I'm not sure how I would feel if I see some girl waltzing around the mall with lip color like this. xD Thanks for the share, Jo!
ReplyDeletehaha runway, maybe...city streets, not even. It is definitely a neat idea. However, I prefer natural/nude shades irl.
ReplyDeleteI probably wouldn't be able to pull this off since I rub my lips together, but I like how playful it is. If I could pull it off, I'd try it.
ReplyDeletethis is nice )) i think i might try it out for a party or somewhere with dim lightening ha ha))) and i totally agree with u upon the nude lips and accentuated eyes :)
ReplyDeleteI've been really wanting to try this out one day, but I'd probably have to be really obnoxious and do it with black and red to be able to feel confident wearing it - it's so obvious that people won't just think I was weird and couldnt apply my lipstick properly.
ReplyDeleteI worry about making it wearable as far as preventing the colours from transferring and mixing together =/
I really love the two-tone look but no way can I pull it off in real life. For a start i can just imagine people coming up to me and saying you are aware you've put on 2 different coloured lipsticks which then make me feel like a nob to say back actually i did it on purpose. And yea secondly as most people said my colours would mesh and turn in to some yucky colour that should not be worn on anyones lips! Eyes all the way x x
ReplyDeleteno no and no! i barley wear ONE bold shade, i don't think i can pull off two different bold lipsticks at the same time....unless i can wear 2 nude shades haha
ReplyDeleteTwo toned lips ! It's ok for fashion show... For everyday makeup, i won,t prefer it.
