A few weeks ago I was browsing in Superdrug and spotted the Vitamin E Eye Cream.
I had remembered Rhamnousia mentioning it on my blog a couple of months back. I couldn't remember what Rhamousia had actually said about it, but because it was mentioned I assumed it was recommended so I bought it for the cheap price of 2.24. Unfortunately though.. Rhamnousia actually told me to stay clear and to not buy it.
When I got home and spoke to Rhamnousia and read back her comment on my previous post, she explained to me how the cream is packed with glitter and she was not wrong. I swatched it on my hand and the glitter was very visible even though It had sunk into my skin. I was literally left with a glittery hand. I have no idea why Glitter was added to this product and cannot see how it could benefit the delicate skin around my eyes. I assume maybe its been added to make the eyes appear brighter? but I'm really not sure.
However I thought that there would be nothing wrong with trying the cream out and seeing how it performed so I applied it that same night. Surprisingly the cream is actually not bad, it was kind of thick and didn't sink in that fast but the next morning my eyes seemed to not be as puffy as they normally would be. However Glitter was still visible. Ive continued to occasionally use it at night, but there is not a chance I am going to apply it as my morning eye cream, when my make up goes on top not long afterwards. The last thing I want is a whole load of sparkling glitter under and around my eyes.
Overall opinion - Its a shame really that the cream does contain glitter as for the price of it, it actually does perform well. It would make the perfect eye cream for someone on a low budget, if only it was minus the glitter.

Glitter in an eye cream, that's quite strange! Your eye will be like a disco ball haha
ReplyDeleteSuch a shame that they ruined this eyecream with glitter, especially as the rest of the range is amazing x
ReplyDeletei bought that too... it is kind of bizarre =.=// it takes ages to sink into my skin which is seriously no good as i was thinking of using it as a day cream due to the spf 15... sigh...
ReplyDeletekyanvi.
I didn't get on well with this range at all - it brought me out in a weird rash! One to avoid for me.
ReplyDeleteI've recently bought the eye cream from this range and was looking online for reviews. I'm guessing since you bought it they've changed the formula as there's zero glitter in my tube and it sinks in really, really quickly for me.
ReplyDeletePerhaps try it again? x
Ditto Hello barbie - I bought mine yesterday and theres no glitter and it sinks in quickly even though its thick. My eyes are a bit puffy though and I'm hoping thats not an allergic reaction! We shall see.. But there's definitely no glitter in it! xx
