Thoughts on the free Benefit products.

Regular readers will know that I picked up three copies of Glamour magazine last week, so I could get all three of the Benefit products that were being given away with purchase of the magazine. I've had chance to try out the products, so I thought I would share my thoughts on each one.

Bad Gal Eyeliner

This is the product I was most disappointed with. When it comes to Eyeliners, Urban Decay have set a high standard for me with their 24/7 Pencil in Zero, the most amazing black eyeliner I have ever used and sadly Bad Gal just doesn't have a patch on it. The colour pay off for me is nowhere near black and is more of a charcoal grey colour, it seriously lacks pigmentation and is nowhere near a true black. It applied awful on my waterline, with hardly any colour payoff and it wore off in under an hour. Definitely not worth the price tag of £14.99

It Stick Concealer pencil

When I first swatched this on my hand, I was impressed. It went on smooth and was very creamy and blended easily, however when I attempted to use it under my eyes, it was a big fat failure. my under eye area is not the firmest of areas (Im getting old sadly) and when applied it just ended up looking flakey and horrible. I would not recommend this for under eye use. I did find it handy for covering spots though, it covers them with ease and is a great colour match for me. Its also idea to carry around in my bag for touch ups throughout the day for any blemishes/spots etc. So overall not a bad product to have, but I wont be re-purchasing.

Eye Bright

This is the product Im most happy with and so glad I got it. I use it on the inner corners of my eyes to literally brighten them up. Its cool pink toned, so it works to diffuse the blue tones on the inner corners of my eyes. I have also used this on my waterline and think works really well at opening up my eyes. I can often find white eye pencils a bit harsh to wear on my waterline but as this is a cool pink shade it just looks really natural and does indeed make my eyes look a lot brighter. Ive also read that it works well at covering dark circles under the eyes as again the pink tone diffuses the blue tone of under eye circles, I haven't yet tried this though so I cannot comment on that. Overall Im really pleased with this product and its multiple uses.

  2. Thank you so much sweetie. This is very useful to know. This confirms my doubts: I only need the eye bright really and hopefully I will be able to purchase it sometime. Unfortunately, all the shops I've been to have run out and not been able to purchase anything. The concealer sounds all right, but in the real world, would i take with me or use it as my favourite concealer? I very much doubt I would use something which needs sharpening when I have tons of others which are more readily usable. Thanks very much for lovely post xx

  7. I agree with you about Bad Gal! I used it on my waterline and there was literally no colour, I had to go back and forth for ages to get a grey colour, and it started wearing off immediately! Really over-hyped in my opinion :) I love the It Stick and Eye Bright though, made sure I got some back ups of those babies :) xx

  8. I wouldn't even spend £2 to get these products. I can't understand the excitement tbh.
    Thanks for sharing.

  9. Bad Gal and It Stick sound a bit disappointing. I picked up an Eye Bright, tried it and loved it so went to get another hehe. I use Eye Bright on my waterline too and it really makes me look awake. You're right when you say it looks natural. I was always a bit hesitant of buying a white eyeliner to use, but Eye Bright seems the perfect colour. I'm definitely going to try it on my dark areas beneath my eye :D xx

  14. I felt exactly the same way about badgirl eyeliner. It was rubbish :( Well, maybe not rubbish, but considering it costs £14, i expected it to be better than a 2 quid eyeliner, which it certain isn't. I use a barry m over this anyday :(

  17. Yes, BadGal was a total disapppointment. I was also really disppointed with the Eye Bright too though - I get the feeling it must only work on fair or cool-toned skins. I have medium, very warm-toned skin and it just looks completely wrong on me (basically it turns grey). I have some Benefit products I love, but these sadly don't cut it.
