While shopping on my local market this morning, I came across a stall selling a lot of MAC products along with Smashbox and Sephora Items. It really shocked me how many people were around the stall and unaware that the MAC products they were buying were fakes. Now to be fair the seller wasn't selling them at high prices. The 'MAC' Eyeshadow I picked up to show you was £5 but still its the point that people are buying these items in good faith thinking they are genuine MAC products.
The Eyeshadow has no sticker or the shade name printed onto the the box as MAC do now, so I had no idea what shade it was meant to be. However the box, did look somewhat genuine. The actually shadow was just blatantly the worst fake I have seen to be honest. The casing was nothing at all like the MAC casing and as for the sticker on the back of the shadow, well the pictures speak for themselves.
"Atiqued Bronze" Oh dear.
I actually had a little laugh at one point, when she pulled out a palette, quite similar to Sleek palettes, as in the same amount of shadows etc and said to me "Here I have these MAC palettes too". Now we all know MAC don't produce palettes like that. I just don't know how the seller had the audacity to actually class the products she was selling as genuine MAC products.
I think most people are actually aware of the growing number of people selling MAC fakes, and are aware what to look for. The only way to be actually sure that the product you are buying is a genuine MAC product though, is to actually purchase it from MAC.
