So I decided that this week, I would apply one of these "once loved but long forgotten" foundations every day and remember why I loved them in the first place.
Today I opted for Max Factor Miracle Touch Liquid Illusion Foundation.
I remember when I very first tried this foundation and I didn't like it at all. I even reviewed it explaining why I didn't like it. I then left it for a while and tried again, only to fall in love with it and once again featured it on my blog. So this is actually going to be the 3rd time I'm talking about Miracle Touch. Now as I haven't used this foundation for probably close to a year, I was a bit worried thinking maybe its past its shelf life but once I applied it, it applied just like it used too and I instantly remembered why I used to love it.
I would say its a foundation for normal/combination skin. Its super creamy but not greasy. Its easy and quick to apply, blends seamlessly and gives an amazing airbrush finish. Leaving my skin so soft and smooth. The coverage is easily build-able, if certain areas need a bit more coverage than others without it resulting in a heavy finish. Although it comes with a sponge applicator I find I get a more flawless finish by using my fingers or a foundation brush. I tend to use my fingers more often than not though. I also find only a tiny amount of powder is needed to set this. It dries to such a gorgeous finish on my skin, that I really don't want to apply powder but kind of feel not complete without doing so. I really do like how easy this foundation is to apply and I love the finish it achieves. Its not as long lasting as some of my high end foundation, but I still do get a good 6 hours or so without needing any form of touch up. The only downside I can really find with this foundation, is that there's just not enough product. Although the jar does look a good size, the glass is quite thick, so it makes it look like there's more product than there actually is.
Overall its one of the better drugstore foundations available.

i loved this too but I hit pan waaay too quick. I find that with most cream to powder foundations like that x
ReplyDeleteI love this but am a bit miffed that there is SO little product in the jar, whe you work it out it costs the same as a high end product, although for me it works just as well as one so maybe I shouldn't be complaining! I could say exactly the same about the miracle concealer too...
ReplyDeleteI always apply foundation with my fingers as well! I've not tried this, but I'm always on the hunt for the best foundation, so might have to put this on my list! x
ReplyDelete@ Sophie and Munichjoolz - Yep, there definitely is a lack of product. If I was to use this continuously, I'd be constantly purchasing it.
ReplyDelete@ The Bristol Beauty Blog - It really is a nice foundation hun. Just doesn't last long! Swatch it next time you're in Boots.

Hey, do you think this would be any good on dry to normal skin? :)xx
ReplyDeleteHi Francesca - If you have overly dry skin, I don't think it would workfor you. I could see it clinging to your dry patches to be honest.

I felt excatly the same Jo. I tried this out and i loved it the first time i used it then i hated it and now i am back using it a year later and it makes my skin look flawless!! I think it's all down to what brush you use to apply the product, i use the MAC 187 and it applies like a dream and my skin is flawless for the first time in a long time i actually love how my make-up looks!
