Product Rave - Burt's Bees Anti Blemish Cleanser.

I mentioned this product a few days ago, in a post where I featured a few random things I have been loving lately. If you follow me on Twitter you may have heard me mention it a few times on there too, basically Im talking about it to everyone that will listen!

"Scientifically proven to help reduce blemishes in only 2 weeks. This cleanser is proven to help wash away blemish causing bacteria, excess oil and impurities without over-drying or irritating skin. Salicylic Acid, derived naturally from Willow Bark Extract, penetrates pores to help reduce blemishes and prevent future breakouts. Evening Primrose and Beet Root Extracts help care for troubled skin resulting in a clearer and healthier-looking skin, naturally".

Normally when it comes to cleansing, I do prefer to use an all in one cleanser, as I can be quite lazy sometimes and just like to be able to grab one product, a muslin cloth and get the job done. However with me having blemish prone skin around the time I am due on my period and without fail, breaking out around my chin area, I decided to use a cleanser for around 2 weeks of the month that specifically targets blemish prone skin. I have pretty clear skin for most of the month, until its "that time" then it just goes a bit haywire.

I have used products in the past that have lessened the breakout and helped to clear my skin more quicker but nothing has prevented it coming, until I started using this product.

Im due on anytime now, so by this time I normally have the monthly breakout apparent and living on my chin. Low and behold though, my skin is as clear as ever, with no signs of a breakout appearing!

The featured ingredient in this product is Willow Bark, which contains natural Beta Hydroxy Acids, which work as a natural skin exfoliant to help unplug follicles and pores. Therefore helping to keep blemishes at bay.

The product itself is a liquid, but it doesn't foam. It lathers up but it doesn't foam, so if you like a foam cleanser then this isn't for you. I find the best way to use it is with a muslin cloth. I simply remove my eye make up with an eye make up remover, then dampen my face and apply a generous amount over my face and massage it into my skin. This breaks down all layers of make up, which I then wipe away with a damp muslin cloth. Its so gentle to use and instantly leaves my skin so soft. I know its done a perfect job of removing every inch of my make up too, as when I apply my toner afterwards (which is currently Avene Thermal Water, another rave to come soon) there is no trace of make up whatsoever on my cotton pad.

Now obviously what works for me isn't going to work for everyone and I wouldn't be here raving about a product if I didn't see any benefits from using it. With Burts Bees Anti Blemish Cleanser though, I will rave and rave because not only does it feel gorgeous to use, removes all traces of make up and leaves my skin softer than a babies bum, Ive also had no breakout!

 Burts Bees I salute you!

  1. I love Burt Bees products, but haven't tried the cleanser. I get awful breakouts round the time of the month (right NOW!), will definitely give this a go.

    Thanks

  2. I was looking at this only yesterday (Boots had a 3 for 2 Glitch on B.B.. sadly I missed out though!). Im sure the Boots Botanics foaming cleanser has willow bark in, as did that Neals Yard one I tried a few months back.
I keep trying cleansers yet nothing seems to work as well as Clearasil does.. After this review I am tempted though
:0/ I just need to work my way through the other 4 or so half opened ones first!
