TAG: Beauty Bloggers Shipwrecked Survival Kit.

The gorgeous Milly has started a new fantastic new tag over on her blog Pearls and Poodles. So thought I'd do it.

Picture the scene - You are set to be castaway on some idyllic paradise (as pictured above) for the unforeseeable future. You are only allowed to take 5 beauty/make up products with you. So what would be your travel essentials? What would have to be a 'must' in your beauty survival kit? The local tribe of the island will be providing us with suntan lotion, so no need to list that!! :)

Here goes:

No.1: Razor.

Well if I'm going to be for for the unforeseeable future, I don't want to end up looking like some grizzly bear! Gotta keep them legs and pits, oh and down below bits.. nice and smooth!

No.2: Deodorant

Its gunna be hot there right, which means Ill sweat and the worst smell in the world has to be B.O erm... no thanks! I know I'll be alone and no one will be smelling me.. but still, it'd make me sick.

No.3: Fem Fresh

A girls best friend. I figured I can just wash in the water so no need for shower gel and I'll have deodorant for afterwards, but I could not last with just washing my bits with just water. I'd feel so dirty! You should take a look of my review for Fem Fresh too while you're here hehe. It can be found here.

N0.4: Facial Moisturiser

Unless I wanna leave the Island with the roughest face ever, I'm gunna need my moisturiser.

No.5: Tweezers:

Imagine having no tweezers *shudders* I'd look like a different woman once I eventually left the island.

So theres my 5 Ladies. I could have chose a whole lot more, it was tough! I figured I wouldn't need any make up though as no ones gunna be seeing me, as long as I'm clean, smooth and have nice eyebrows.. I'll be right haha.

Hope to see a few of you do Milly's fab tag.

*Hugs*

My top 5 Nail Polishes (of the moment).

Just thought I'd do a quick post on my top 5 nail polishes of the moment, No doubt it'll change within a week, but for now here's my top 5.

I'm fairly certain Ive featured all these polishes in a NOTD post, but I'll give you a quick run down anyway. From left to right:

- Barbara Daley for Tesco "Whimsy" - This is a simply gorgeous shade. Its a darkish pink and is just so sophisticated looking when on the nails.

- Ciate Paint Pot "Dangerous Affair" - A deep and dark red, with a super glossy finish. Looks stunning.

- OPI "Barefoot In Barcelona" - A dark peachy nude shade, suitable for any occasion. Looks very elegant on the nails.

- Rimmel Pro "Pompous" - A dark shimmery gorgeous shade of purple. Perfect shade to get your nails noticed..

- George @ Asda "Trick" - Its not pink and its not purple, its just somewhere in between and its a shade I absolutely love. Whenever I wear it, I get comments on my nails.

Do you have a favourite Nail Polish at the moment?

NYX Glosses - Whipped and Baby Pink.

I ordered these a couple of days ago from LoveMakeup which is a UK site, for £2.99 each. I was originally going to order from Cherry Culture, but I'm so impatient, when I want something.. I want it ASAP.

Left: Whipped. Right: Baby Pink.

These are my first NYX Glosses and I'm so pleased with them. They are nice and affordable, have great pigmentation and are long lasting. They are silky smooth and non sticky, I can't stand sticky Lip Gloss.

Whipped.

Baby Pink.

Whipped looks so gorgeous over my nude Lipsticks and Baby Pink works so well with my bare lips. I will definitely be ordering some more.

Do you own any NYX Glosses?

MAC Fleshpot.

I've been lusting about this baby for soooo long, so when my gorgeous friend Sarah told me she worked 5 minutes away from a MAC Pro shop and would pick me it up... I was literally nearly wetting myself with excitement!

Fleshpot is along the same lines as Myth, both are Satin formula and both are nudes. Its a lot more wearable than Myth though, some people seem to find Myth hard to pull off. Fleshpot is a bit cooler than Myth with pink undertones, where as Myth is more of a peachy nude.

Left - Fleshpot. Right - Myth.

Fleshpot.

How do you feel about Nude Lips? Do you own Fleshpot? Or want to own it?

Vanity area.

To be honest its not pretty enough to be a vanity area, its just my little corner of the room really where I put my slap on. Harvey's still in my room, so I don't have that much space with his cot and bits n bobs, but once hes in with Anton, I had an idea how I want it to look. First thing on my list will be a dressing table.

So Ladies... he's where I stand every morning, putting my face on and every evening taking it off again. Bit boring looking, but it'll do for now.

And a side view... with my pimp looking dressing gown on show and one boot.. ha.

My twig lights are actually on in the first picture too, but I guess the flash on the camera killed it. As you can see, its all very plain and boring. The big pink and Black box holds all the make up I tend to reach for most. The mini tower besides is where most of my facial skincare products are, apart from face washes and masks. My hair products and some body products can be found in the top drawer off this chest of drawers too, the rest like my Soap & Glory Items are all in the bathroom. Finally...  the chest of drawers next to that has my perfumes on it, 2 boxes with Nail Polishes in, my filthy brushes, god they look awful... I will clean them tomorrow! ha, my face wipes and 2 make up bags which I use when I go to Gareths.

Have you posted your vanity area? if so link me below. Love noseying at others.

NOTD - Rimmel Pro - Beige Style

Back to the nudes I go, with another Rimmel Polish. I really am loving neutral shades at the moment, they look really elegant on the nails and are suitable for any occasion.

Once again Rimmel didn't fail to please. I love the formulation of these polishes. This is a truly gorgeous nude. Application was once again a breeze, 2 coats and it was opaque.

What do you think about nude nails?

Sally Hansen Teflon Tuff Quick Dry Top Coat - Does it compare to Seche Vite?

I think I must be the only person to not own the famous Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat. The reason behind this, is that I've always been happy with a much cheaper alternative which is Sally Hansen Teflon Tuff Quick Dry Top Coat. Which I normally buy from ebay for around £2.50 which includes postage.

It works the same way as Seche Vite, applied over wet nails it speeds up the drying time so nails are touch proof within minutes. Its also leaves my nails incredibly glossy and also keeps my nails from chipping.

However I'm starting to get intrigued about Seche Vite. I'm interested to see how it compares to Teflon Tuff, as obviously it hasn't become the most famous top coat for no reason. I have actually tried it once, it was a friends, however at the time I wasn't into my nails that much and just assumed it was an ordinary top coat, and didn't pay the slightest bit of attention to its benefits. So have any of you Ladies ever tried Teflon Tuff and been able to compare it to Seche Vite? Or maybe share your thought n why Seche Vite is so good.

A bit of weekend shopping...

First port of call was Boots. I had four £5 off vouchers for No.7/Ruby and Millie, so instead of letting them go to waste, I thought I'd use them up. I picked up 2 packets of No.7 wipes, which worked out at £1.50 each, the new Radiance Boosting Hot Cloth Cleanser, which with the voucher was £3.75 and the Nourishing Nail & Cuticle Care, which was £1.25 with my last voucher. Gotta love the £5 off vouchers!!!! hehe.

While in Boots I decided to get a new eye cream. If you're a regular reader you'll know the last eye cream I was using which was an Origins one, really didn't work well for me, so I decided to pick up one that the lovely Marcia wrote a great review on which is No7 Time Resisting Day & Night Eye Care.

I also decided to pick up a new perfume. I was sent a tester of Amor Amor by Cacharel as part of my giveaway prize from the lovely Fei and Gareth absolutely loves it on me. So of course gotta keep the fella happy, so I picked up a bottle.

I also got a bottle of Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid. I love this foundation and use it when I don't need a heavy coverage. Oh and I picked up a Gosh Lip Gloss too and some more UDPP.

Lastly I popped in MAC to pick up Well Dressed Blush, been after this for so long, but every time I attempted to get it online, it was sold out.

So all in all not a bad weekend of shopping really.

MAC Harmony Blush.

As I did a post on contouring a few days ago, I thought I'd show you one of the main products I use to contour.

Mac Harmony Blush.

For me this is the perfect contour colour. It works so well with my skin tone. As it's Matte, there is no shimmer or sparkles, so I can create the most natural looking shadows. It is very pigmented so I use a light hand to contour but It blends really easily anyway so you can control how dark or light you want it to go on.

Do you own Harmony? or what shade do you use to contour?

NOTD - Rimmel Pompous.

I've never had a bad thing to say about Rimmel's polishes. I don't like their make up that much, I think I only own one or two blushes and a couple of Lipsticks and Mascaras.. but I own a fair few of their polishes. They never fail to disappoint. I especially love the new brush, it makes application a doddle.

I decided to go with Pompous today, which is one of the polishes from the 60 seconds range, as Ive been wearing a lot of Nudish shades lately, so thought I'd have a change. This is a gorgeous shimmery shade of purple, with a very slight glitter finish, its definitely one of my favourites.

Each pic is 2 coats and a top coat.

Maybelline Falsie Mascara - The Review.

Regular readers will know I purchased Maybellines newest Mascara on Wednesday after hearing the gorgeous Holly rave about it on Twitter. Ive been using it every day since, so thought I'd share my opinion on it.

Well Holly was not wrong about anything she said. The brush is very cleverly designed to lift lashes right from the base and create volume, while also making sure to reach every single lash. It separates them nicely, gives them volume and best of all there was no clumping whatsoever. I prefer the brush on this Mascara to the brush on Max Factors False Lash Effect as it really does grip under the base of my lashes and gives a much more even application

For the pictures below I applied the mascara to bare uncurled lashes and applied just 2 coats. I'm in no doubt it can easily be built up though without any clumping for a more dramatic look. I just had Harvey clinging onto my leg while I was applying it, so 2 coats was all I could manage ha.

The before and after pics.

Before:

My bare pathetic eyelashes. God really missed me when he was giving eyelashes out.

After:

Overall:  I'm really pleased and will definitely carry on using it.

On a side note, this will be the last time I do a close up off my eye... I discovered wrinkles I didn't even know I bloody had! :(

The post showing the tube and the brush can be found here.

Updated Skincare Routine.

I posted my skincare routine a while back, but seen as its constantly changing, I thought I'd do an updated version and show you what products I'm currently using and how my routine goes.

The products:

The routine:

First thing in the morning I start by using Neutrogena's 2 in 1 wash and mask. I then use my Garnier eye roll on, to get rid of my morning puffiness. After about 10 minutes (I'm normally pottering about at this time, getting the boys up etc) I apply my eye cream. At the moment Im doubling up with my No.7 Protect and Perfect Intense Beauty Serum and using it as an eye cream too, so I apply a generous amount onto my whole face and around my eyes. This sinks in really fast so I apply my moisturiser straight afterwards which is Estee Lauder's Day Wear Plus. I then apply my make up.

My night time routine is not much different. First off I grab my wipes, L'oreal Age Perfect Cleansing Wipes to take the majority of my make up off. I then give my face a good wash, again using Neutrogena 2 in 1 wash and mask. I then apply my serum, over and under my eyes and on my whole face and neck. Straight afterwards I apply my night cream. Im currently using a small tub of No.7 Protect and Perfect Night Cream, that I got FWP. Once that runs out, I'll purchase the full sized tub. Lastly I apply Carmex Lip Balm, which is perfect for the winter months and works with my Lips overnight to make them super soft in the morning.

Additional Products:  Twice a week I apply a face mask. Either No. 7 Hydro Quench Sauna Mask or Soap and Glory's The Fab Pore.

I also exfoliate three times a week using either Soap & Glory's The Greatest Scrub of all or No.7 Radiance Revealed Exfoliator.

So there we have my current routine. No doubt, the products will change again in a few week, but for now Im happy.

Maybellines new Mascara - The Falsies.

I had no idea Maybelline had even brought out a new mascara until the stunning Holly raved about it on twitter. Ive become a bit of a mascara lover recently, trying out all different brands, so while in Boots earlier I picked it up.

Maybelline say:

"Discover the new Falsies Mascara from Voulum'Express for a false lash volume look.

The Pro-Kareatin and Fibre enriched formula attaches to lashes you didn't know you had and creates a false lash look of thicker and longer looking lashes.

Our patented spoon brush fans out lashes and ensures generous product deposit. Our unique flexible stem helps build volumn without clumping.

RESULT: False lash volume. Full set of voluminous lashes - corner to corner. No clumps."

I shall let you Ladies know how I get on.

OPI - Barefoot in Barcelona.

I remember seeing this a while ago on someone else's blog, I can't remember who though sorry :( and from that moment I knew I had to have it. Its such a gorgeous neutral shade. An all round shade suitable for any occasion. It has an extremely lady like look about it and makes me feel all grown up and sophisticated. (Yeah.. I know I'm already grown up, but well... I still like to think I'm that young fresh faced 18 year old :P haha) Another winner from OPI.

The pics below are with a base coat, 2 coats and a top coat. Excuse my horrible cuticles and try not to spot the falsie ;)

What do you Ladies think? Do you like or a bit boring?
