How often do you wash yours?

... Brushes that is.

Were all aware of the importance of washing our make up brushes. Bacteria builds on our brushes and then transfers to our skin upon use, which can lead to infections or breakouts. But just how many of us actually have a routine when it comes to keeping our brushes clean?

I have to admit when it comes to washing my brushes, I am really lazy. Its not my most favourite job in the world and I do tend to put it off quite a lot. Ideally I would like to get into a nice routine of washing my main ones every other day.

Do you have a strict routine where washing your brushes is concerned?

A product Ive been using continuously this week....

..... NYX Eyeshadow Trio TS17 - Frosted Flake/Slate/Luster.  I am in love with this little trio and have been near enough using it continuously since I bought it last week. The 3 shades works perfectly together and create a really subtle brown smokey eye, perfect for every day wear.

The shadows are soft and silky, very pigmented and apply and blend so easily. I find they maintain their colour so well through out the day as well,  without creasing or fading.

I have a few other NYX Palettes and have never been disappointed with them. It has been said by a few people that the single shadows contain more pigment than the trios, but for me I don't think this is the case. I find these very pigmented and they give a gorgeous colour pay off. The only problem I do have is that I find the packaging quite hard to open. I have heard of people depotting the trio shadows though, so I think I may purchase an empty MAC palette and depot them.

Do you have any NYX Trio's?

Eldora Lashes!

You all know that recently Ive developed a big love for False Lashes, so I was quite excited when I was contacted by a lovely Lady called Ella from the company Eldora. Ella asked would I be interested in trying out some of their lashes, so of course I jumped at the chance!

Eldora are a Manchester based company with more than 200 types of Lashes to choose from! They are all made from the same manufacturer as the world leading false eyelashes brand. Therefore the quality is guaranteed. Every pair of Eldora eyelashes is made from synthetic or sterilised human hair. They are re-usable and come with their own adhesive.

The pair I will be showing you today are Lashes H106. These are Human Hair Black Gradient Effect Lashes, which cost £3.90 from Eldoras website. Please bear in mind, I'm still learning with the whole eyelash application ha, so my application isn't spot on sadly.

I worn these all day yesterday and I am so impressed. They are the most natural looking lashes I have ever tried. They feel so light weight, it literally feels like I'm not wearing any false lashes. They blended perfectly with my own lashes and looked so natural. As you can see by the pictures they gave me amazing length and really opened up my eyes. As I said earlier, each pair of lashes comes with their own Adhesive, which I found to be really good. They only thing which could be slightly off putting for some people, is the fact that when applied the adhesive is a scary looking blue colour, this does dry clear though, so its not really a problem.

The lashes removed easily at the end of day and held their shape which I was pleased about. They are  now packed away nicely in their box, (which I forgot to picture... sorry!) ready for another use. Eldora say the lashes can be used up to 20 times, I personally wouldn't use them that much though and at the price they are its cheap enough to just buy another pair after say 4-5 uses. The company offers free UK delivery with any purchase too, which is fantastic! They also offer free worldwide delivery for purchases above £20.00. Otherwise, worldwide delivery is at £4.90. They also offer a fantastic 10% discount on any order above £10.00 and 20% discount on order above £35.00. With deals like that on offer there really is no reason for you not to order!! With over 200 pairs available, you're sure to find something suitable for any occassion.

I was sent quite a few pairs of lashes so I have some fantastic ones to review, ranging from natural to full on glamour to dramatic with glitter! so keep a look out over the weeks for some more eyelash posts!

Just to clarify, I was sent these lashes for free from Eldora for review purposes.

Thanks for reading Ladies...

MAC Phloof! Eyeshadow....

... This truly is a gorgeous eye shadow and I'm so glad I managed to get it as a bargain price from the gorgeous Laurys blog sale.

I would describe it as a frosty off white shade with gorgeous shimmer. Its ideal for highlighting the brow bone or applying on the inner corners of the eyes to brighten. I also like to use mine as a lid colour with a nice shadow like Satin Taupe worked into the crease to add a bit of definition. This has definitely become a staple in my every day make up routine, whether its used to highlight, brighten or a quick application over the lid when Ive not got much time. I personally think its one of them shades that should be in everybody's collection. I will be re-purchasing without a doubt once mine hits pan.

Do you have Phloof! as part of your collection? What is your favourite shadow to highlight?

Todays Nails....

I went for a little combo on my nails today. First off I applied Barry M Coral, which my lovely friend Paula sent me, as she wasn't too fond of it. I thought it looked a bit plain on its own and similar to other polishes I have, so I decided to put a coat of OPI Bright Lights Big Color over the top, just to add a bit of shimmer. Unfortunately though my camera hasn't managed to pick up the gorgeous gold shimmer that Bright Lights Big Color adds.... typical eh!

I so love Orange/Coral nails, they just seem to work so well with my skin tone.

Have you tried either of these Polishes?

Girls Aloud Lashes.

Recently I've really got into the habit of applying false eyelashes. I think they add a whole new look and make me feel quite glamorous when wearing them. Before trying the Girls Aloud range, I had always had trouble applying them, which was more due to the brands I was using rather than my technique. I always seemed to go for really cheap pairs costing around £1 - £2, thinking this would help me learn how to apply them. The first Girls Aloud pair I tried were Cheryl's, like most girls I wanted the "Cheryl look" that girl has amazing lashes! Since then I've worked my way through all of the girls lashes, so I thought I'd give my opinion on each set.

Cheryl's -

Out of the range, I would say Cheryl's are the most dramatic. These are the pair I would choose to wear on a night out. I personally wouldn't say these were suitable for everyday use. They are very dense, dark and thick. They make a huge difference to the eye area and give a really glamorous look. The lashes sweep out quite dramatically at the outer corners, so you do have to be careful with application and make sure the lashes are even on either side.

Sarah's -

I would describe these as a less dramatic version of Cheryl's. They are still very dense dark and thick, they do have the false lashes look but they look a lot more natural than Cheryl's. Again I would wear these ones for a night out. I find them easier to apply than Cheryl's and they elongate the eye which I like. These are my favourite pair when I want the full of glamour look.

Kimberly's -

Kimberly lashes are girly and fluttery. They are a lot longer than the previous two and give great length and texture. I've worn these both on a night out and during the day. They are really natural looking, I'd say probably the most natural looking out of all of them. These are the pair I'd go with when wearing just light make up, either day or night.

Nicolas -

Nicolas are the lashes I would only wear during the day. They are a lot less dramatic than the other lashes and have a nice classy look to them. I think they give me the "my lashes but better" look.

Nadine's -

I think Nadine's are quite similar to Kimberly's, shape wise and length. Although Nadine's are darker than Kimberly. They are long and full and add a nice length and volume to my lashes. Again these are ones I would wear both for day time wear and evening wear, say to a nice restaurant for example.

All of the lashes are reusable and come with their own glue. The glue however is not very strong, it does last all night, but I do get a bit nervy if I step outside and a gush of wind comes... I just imagine my eyelashes flying off! ha. It also has quite a strange smell to it, almost like fish. Once the lashes are on though, you can't smell it. A separate eyelash adhesive an always be bought and used with the lashes though. Overall I can't really fault these range of lashes. They are easy to apply and remove and can be used numerous times.

Which are your favourite Girls Aloud Lashes?

Peachy cheeks - Recommendations needed.

I've always loved the look of peach blush, I think when worn well, with the right shade, peach blush can really warm up the cheeks and give a gorgeous look. For as long as I can remember though, Ive always worn pink blush and have been a bit scared of venturing over to the peach side. My obvious fear has been picking the wrong shade and it ending up looking a bit orange.

When MAC's Ripe Peach Blush Ombre came out with the new Spring Forecast Collection. I was so tempted to buy it, it looks absolutely gorgeous, but with me never trying any shade of peach at all on my cheeks, I was weary of spending £19.50 to just end up finding out that peach blush doesn't work well with my skin tone and suit me.

I decided my best option was to try out a cheap peach blush first and see how It suits etc, then if I like it I can proceed to buying a decent brand one.

One brand that never fails for cheap cosmetics, is Boots Natural Collection. I already own a few of their pink blushes and quite a few Lipsticks and have never been disappointed, so while out shopping at the weekend I picked up another of their Blushes in Peach Melba.

Although it does look kind of dark in the pan, when on the skin it adds a really natural, healthy looking peach glow to my cheeks. I was actually quite surprised at how peach blush can totally alter my appearance. Its so suitable for the natural every day look and perfect for spring and summer. Although I am really happy with this Blush, for the price it really is good quality. I now want to venture further though and explore some other peach blushes from other brands. So any recommendations Ladies?

NOTD - Essie Cantaloupe

I adore this shade! Its so perfect for spring. Its a creamy peach shade with a slight pink undertone. Application wasn't too bad, it was slightly watery but was opaque with 2 coats.

Please excuse the incredibly dodgy looking middle finger nail. Its not my own ha. Mine broke :( and looks much worse than that dodgy falsie. It actually doesn't look that bad in person, but it look shocking on pics, suppose I better get to Boots today and pick up some decent falsies for emergencies.

Northern Ladies - Manchester, Leeds Liverpool ect, If you like to Spa, pamper yourself with facials, manicures etc then read on!

Well yesterday was  one hell of a day. Kids were playing up, I'm feeling a bit under the weather, its that time of the month, I'm feeling a bit down and yucky in general, so I thought it was about time I treated myself!

So I ventured to the only website I know that offers luxury pampering at a fantastic cost. Which is Wahanda.
I've previously posted about Wahanda and their fantastic site and the current promotion they have going on called Mobdeals. That post can be found here.

I wanted to do another little post today just for Northern women in particular, who would like to treat themselves to a Spa day, Facial, Manicure or pedicure, but basically don't have a clue about prices, which salon to choose etc etc. I personally wouldn't have had a clue any of the above if it wasn't for Wahanda. I most probably would have just googled for a salon or spa and chose the first one that came up and would have ended up paying full price for a procedure, when I could have found myself something suitable for maybe half the price by going on Wahanda, and looking at their Manchester Mobdeals.

This site truly is fantastic. Yesterday I booked myself a Luxury Pedicure and File and Polish Manicure for £20! the normal retail price of this would be £40 but with Manchester Mobdeals I got it for £20. Which is an absolute bargain. I'm off to a top salon in the heart of Manchester City Centre and my feet are being treated to the works! I decided it was about I had my feet pampered, I'm always doing my hands and finger nails, but sadly I really do neglect my feet and toe nails. I paint them about once a week, at a push ha. With the weather changing rapidly aswell, Summers going to be here before we know it, so need my Tootsies to be looking perfect for sandals! hehe.

Ladies, I cannot urge you enough to check out the Manchester Mobdeals. They have some amazing saving!!! Today's Manchester Mobdeal for example, is a Massage, Facial or Body Wrap at Essential Spa in Central Manchester for only £25, saving you up to 60%. We all need a bit of pampering every now again. Take a leaf out of my book and head over to Wahanda hehe.

Don't forget to check back for my review on my Pedicure and Manicure. Before and after pics etc. So excited, never had a Pedicure before hehe.
Please note, I am not affiliated with Wahanda in any way. I have no been asked to write this post, or to even mention Wahanda. This post is simply because I'm excited about the deal I bagged myself and the huge saving, and wanted to share it with you.

Thanks for reading Ladies....

Does the scent of a product ever put you off using it?

A few weeks ago I purchased Superdrugs own Vitamin E Night Cream. Ive read quite a few good reviews on it and as Ive never really been satisfied with any night cream Ive previously tried I'm always on the look out for something new. I'm always attracted to product that have good reviews and are great value for money and this definitely is. For under £3 you get a 150ml tub, which is pretty huge compared to other creams Ive tried.

I also like products that contain Vitamin E as its a well-known antioxidant which apparently helps keep skin healthy and youthful by slowing the aging of the cells resulting from the interaction of oxygen with other chemicals in the skin.

I've only managed to use this product about three times though sadly, as I just cannot get past the scent of it. It has a really strong scent which reminds me so much of hair creams formulated for Afro hair. My friend Daniella always smells like my moisturiser! ha. So its kind of got into my head now that something that smells like hair cream can't be that good for my skin. Now obviously its not hair cream, you know this and I know this so why can't I bring myself to use it? Why is my bloody head telling me its hair cream! One of my lovely blogger friends Fei over @ Peonies and Lilies has been using this cream for years and swears by it and her skin is gorgeous. The few times that I have used it, Ive actually been quite pleased aswell. It sinks in nice and fast, so it can be literally applied just before getting into bed, safe in the knowledge that its not going to end up all over my pillow and not actually working on my face through the night. My face also did feel nice and soft in the morning. I did try to carry on using it, but its like Ive just convinced myself that its bloody hair cream! arghhhhhhh!

Has this ever happened to anybody else? where the scent of a product has just been enough to put you off? or am I just plain strange!!!!

Requested Swatch - MAC Hue Lipstick.

Yesterday my lovely Blogger and Twitter friend Charlie asked would I swatch MAC's Hue Lipstick for her.Charlie was interested in seeing what Hue was like alone on bare lips, as I had explained to her that the pic I posted Yesterday of me wearing MAC In Synch Lip Pencil with Hue, was more the shade of the Lip Pencil as I covered my Lips completely with the pencil first then just added a coat of Hue on top.

Hue Lipstick:

Swatched :

Hue applied on my bare Lips:

For me, Hue is defintely a "My Lips but better" shade. Its a very Natural shade and perfect for every day wear.

Hope this helps Charlie. Im not too good with Lip pics ha, but the swatch is spot on.
