George @ Asda - I love your Nail Polishes....

.... But your Blushers are poo!

I've never been one to turn my nose up at cheap affordable Make up. I always think everything is worthy of a try, because I have actually come across some great finds within cheaper unknown beauty brands.

I thought I'd give George @ Asdas range of make up a try, as I absolutely love their Nail Polishes and was quite interested too see what the quality of their make up was like. To be fair though, I only did pick up one item which was a Blusher, so I can't comment on the whole range.

The shade I chose was Peach. There was no tester on show unfortunately and the blusher was packaged with cellophane round it, so I couldn't even open it to check the colour. It looked nice though ha and was only £2.50 (I think).

Looks kinda pretty right? until I dipped my brush into it to use it and this happened....

It is so powdery its untrue! It went everywhere. None ended up on my brush, instead it was just flying around my room ha! When I did manage to get some on my brush and apply it, it was nothing like a peach colour and ended up looking more a dirty orange.

Its incredibly chalky and its really needed to be layered to get any colour payoff and then like I said, the actual colour was just horrible and looked powdery and chalky on my face.

I really wouldn't recommend these blushers, but I'd be interested to know if you've tried any other products from the George range and what your thoughts are.

Ok... I have a problem.

Yep Ladies... I have a problem. Ok, its not a biggie, but its still a problem and its concerning these babies pictured below.

My nails. So what started out as me sticking a false nail on a nail that I broke so badly it was bleeding, has resulted on me eventually ending up with TWO full hands of false nails :(

Grab your coffee get the voilins out and I'll explain how this alllll began.

Its all began a fair few weeks ago... (ha... that sounds like the beginning of one of my Antons stories at school) I broke one of my nails, to the point that it was literally not a nail anymore, it was bleeding, painfull and it just looked a mess. So I came up with the idea that I'd just stick a false nail over it, while it healed and then I wouldn't have to cut the rest of my nails down to match. So it was all good... I just had one false nail on, no one really noticed and I was still able to have pretty looking nails and paint them.  But then I got into a mess :( each time another nail broke, the false ones were just there staring at me! so I thought "oh might aswell stick one of them on again" I wouldn't mind... but if Im honest none of the others even broke that bad, they would have grew back within a week, but no... stupid me goes and keeps putting a false one on each time one of my own broke. Before I knew it Ive ended up with 2 full hands :(

So wheres the problem Jo? Plenty of women wear false nails. Well the problem is.... Im addicted to them! I like them better than my own nails ffs! I tried last week to take them off, got it into my head "Im gunna grow my own again... want my own nails!" even bought some stuff that a few Ladies on Twitter recommended to help them grown and get strong, but I just couldn't stand it. I was longing to paint them and have pretty nails again. I was embarrased everytime I was paying for Items at a shop or something, I felt like a man in disguise with my stubs for nails :( so I put the false ones back on again.

So where do I go from here? I don't want to wear false nails for the rest of my days, the glue is totally wrecking my own nails :( Im up shit street basically ha!

Oh by the way... the polish above is Barry M's new one. Can't decided if I like it though or if it just makes my hands look dead. Oh and I payed for my falsies with my own moola BUT I do actually have some Nailene ones winging their way to me as we speak, for review purposes haha. Its never gunna end.... Im gunna be false for life!

Product Rave!

I realise Im like later than late discovering this product, but after its performance last night it so deserves a mention.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Eyeliner in Zero.

As soon as I bought this and used it for the first time I knew it was HG material. Its super soft and creamy and glides on my upper lid so easily. My pulling or tugging, just a nice smooth application. I cannot seem to work with Liquid Eyeliners or Felt like Liners at all, and although Ive found some pretty good pencil eyeliners in my time, for use on my upper Lid, Ive never been completely satisfied. The colour starts to fade after a few hours and sometimes another application is needed, however this is not the case with Urban Decays 24/7 Eyeliner.

The best proof I have to back this up is what happened that last night. I put my kids to bed at 8pm and Harvey wouldn't settle, so I put him in my bed with me, I only ended up crashing with him and stayed there the whole night till this morning! with my make up still on! *shudders* anyway the point is, I got up this morning, looked in the mirror and I shit you not..... my eyeliner on my top lid was still looking absolutely perfect! every other bit of make up had disappeared ha, but not my eyeliner. If that's not staying power then I don't know what is!

Do you own any UD 24/7 Liners? What are your thougths on them?

Im now officially an Aussie Angel!!!!

How excited was I yesterday morning when Mr. Postman arrived with a big fat parcel! I had no clue what it was as all the things Ive ordered the past week had already been delivered.
I so had that little excitement feeling I used to have at Christmas when I was a kid. Anyway I ripped it open and found my little welcome pack to the Aussie Angels Volume Tribe!

Inside my gorgeous Aussie Volume Wash bag was:

  •  Aussome Volume Shampoo & Conditioner - To Keep my hair bouncy!

  • An Aussie compact mirror - For checking out my yummy hair!

  • A mini Chocolate bar - What girl can survive without chocolate? (that's not actually pictured, because I erm.... ate it)

  • A comb - To keep my locks in check.

  • An Aussome Volume Tribe Badge - which is really nice but well.. I think I'll pass on wearing it ha!

  • An Aussome Volume Tribe Badge for my blog - which should be over there somewhere --------->
How cool is that!!!  These are my survive items until its my tribe party, which Im so excited about!
Has anyone else become an Aussie Angel recently?

New skincare Items/Routine.

My skins become quite dry lately and the moisturiser I was using just wasn't up to the job of  So i decided it was time for a change. Ive had my eye on Korres Wild Rose 24 Hour Moisturiser for a while now. Supposedly, the anti oxidisation properties of the rose are both anti ageing and extremely moisturising, ensuring 24-hour hydration, which is something my skin seriously needs. Its also a firm favourite of Kylie Minogue's, who I think looks damn hot for her age! If its good enough for Kylie its good enough for Jo.

Im coming close to the end of the Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Foaming Cleanser, which I've been using for the last few months. My breakouts have all cleared up and my skins looking nice and clear, so I thought I'd have a change and try a new facial wash.

I've always been a fan of plain soap and water. For years that's all I used until I fell into the beauty trap. My mum swears by soap and water and has never used anything else in all her 63 years and her skin is friggin fantastic! So I thought I'd go back to basics for a bit, well near enough basics and give Clinique's Liquid Soap a try.

I ordered directly from the Clinique website and also recived 4 free samples with my order, which I was really pleased with.

Each sample is a really good size, so Im looking forward to giving them all a try.

I've decided to stick with my current Eye Creams, until Ive used them up, even though I have got my eye on another one. Im currently using Boots No. 7 Time Resisting Day and Night Eye Care and Thisworks Tired Eyes Serum.

I use the serum first thing in the morning and then again just before I put my make up on followed by the No.7 eye cream. The No.7 contains both a gel which is meant for day use and a cream for night use.  I don't think much of the gel, so I just use the night one both day and night. I will be definitely be re-purchasing Thisworks Tired Eyes Serum but once Ive used the No.7 up, Im going to treat myself Korres Materia Herba Anti Ageing Moisturiser, which my gorgeous friend Sarah has just given a rave review on.

Have you tried any of the products mentioned?

Just want to say Thank you.

Over time Ive begun to notice that I have really amazing loyal followers, who continuously read my blog and always leave me such lovely comments. So this is just basically a thank you post and to let you know that the way you continue to read my blog and enjoy it enough to comment, doesn't go unnoticed.

It really does touch me a lot, especially because I am actually a really shit person at commenting myself ha! I read every blog I follow, but its hard to be sat at my comp for more than a few minutes at a time, with a 17 month old baby toddling about. I basically fit in a bit of reading when I can and do all my blog posts at night when the kids are in bed. So it means so much to me that even though I hardly comment on your blogs, you still make the effort to comment on mine. Its so touching.

Thank you so much Ladies... its appreciated more than you know.

Much love

If you've ever had the pleasure of ordering from Zuneta, you'll be familiar with the gorgeous gift boxes that your products arrive in. It adds a real personal touch and just adds a little something extra to my whole shopping experience.

The boxes come in all different sizes, depending on how much stuff you order. With them being so nice I thought I'd try and find a way to re use them instead of just throwing them away. I managed to find a use for the top part of one of the smaller boxes, which now holds my favourite "go to" Lippies...

And the top part of one of the slightly bigger boxes holds my current hairsprays and a hair clip I reach for regularly when I wear my hair down...

I love things to look neat and tidy and for my favourite items to be easily accessible, so these boxes have really come in handy!

Just call me genius Jo... :P

One thing I cannot stand is....

Chipped Nail Polish! Yep... Im having a little rant. Only because the sales assistant that served me yesterday completely shocked me with her disgusting nails.

Now when I say Chipped I don't mean one or two slight chips that have happened through the course of the day and cannot be helped, I mean full on chipped, when the Nail Polish has literally been on for days and is just chipped completely on every single nail. Leaving patches of Polish on each nail. It looks so trashy! Especially when its worn to work and women are in constant contact with members of the public. Do they have no shame!

Pictures taken from google images.

Women notice other women's nails, well I certainly do anyway and to me it just shows a complete sign of laziness. Lets be honest here it doesn't take more than 2 mins to just grab some nail polish remover, a cotton wool pad and quickly just remove your polish.

Do this irritate and disgust anyone else? or am I just too damn picky? ha!

Lancome Hypnose Mascara

"I turn up my lash volume 6x. I turn on my power to hypnotise!

Control the volume of your lashes for a truly hypnotic effect! With each stroke, the PowerFULL™ brush intensifies your look for lashes that are up to six times thicker and perfectly separated. Easy to apply, the supple formula goes on smoothly, with lots of play time and no clumping. It’s made to measure volume for a bewitching look that’s simply irresistible!"

Something my lashes lacks and needs is volume. I love the look of full lashes, but its something I can very rarely achieve. I have a few mascaras I use to gain extra length to my lashes, that work really well but none that add volume and give me lush, full lashes.

Hypnose promises 6x more volume, that promise alone sold me. It isn't cheap at £20 though so I was overly pleased when Gareth brought it home to me on Friday. Ive got my boy trained well ;)

I've been using this constantly since Friday and overall Im really pleased with it. It comes packaged in a stylish, sleek expensive looking black tube with Lancome written in gold on it. Upon application I find it applies really nicely and covers my lashes perfectly with one to two coats or it can be easily layered without any clumping for that more dramatic effect, while still looking natural. The wand is pretty standard but It reaches and coats every lash and distributes nice and evenly, with a colour payoff that is rich and glossy. It makes my lashes look thick and full and really lifts from the base and curls them nicely, which means no need to use eye lash curlers beforehand. I wouldn't say it adds a huge amount of length, but I wasn't expecting that anyway as its more of a volumising mascara, but it does add a little extra length which fits in nicely with the amount of volume it gives. It really does open my eyes up and makes them stand out and look a lot more noticable.

Unfortunately I forgot to add before and after shots. If you would like to see before and after pics, leave me a comment below and I'll get onto it.

Have you tried any of Lancome's Mascara? What is your favourite Mascara?

New baby Kittens - Cutest thing ever.

My cousins cat has just had 3 baby kittens, so I couldn't resist taking a few pics to show you all. They are so adorable and the new mummy is doing so well with them. Sorry the pictures are not that good, but I had to rush them as we didn't want to keep hold of her new babies for too long.

Watching Sabrina (yep thats mummy cats name) with her babies is just the most adorable thing ever. She washes them, feeds them, snuggles them, its so cute and makes my heart melt.
