Bargain of the week! - Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner in Taupe.

I feel this little product warrants a mention, seen as it only cost me £2.99! Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner in Taupe.

I do have a bit of an addiction with brown eyeliners. I find a nice brown works well for me during the day and is less harsh looking than black.

Ive had a few Revlon eyeliners in the past and always been pleased. I've never actually tried a colorstay one
though. So when I came across one on Blush Cosmetics for just £2.99, I couldn't resist! and obviously with the shade being taupe (Im a true neutral girl) It was right up my street!

Shade wise, its a gorgeous medium - dark brown. Just perfect to line just under my lower lash line with, without it looking harsh. Perfect for during the day.

I also like the fact its a twist up applicator, so no need for sharpening. It applies soft and smoothly and doesn't tug on the thin, delicate skin around my eyes. Without a doubt its definitely one of the best highstreet eyeliners I have ever tried. It really does what it claims and stays in place all day long, without smearing, bleeding or just basically fading to nothing.

For £2.99 its definitely my bargain of the week!

PRIORI® Coffeeberry® Perfecting Minerals Finishing Touch

When it comes to powder for my face, it doesn't take me long to decided whether I like a product or not and whether it does the job for me. Basically it takes me a minute after applying the powder to see if its set my foundation well and helped to make my skin look flawless and isn't too heavy giving me nothing but a thick looking powder face. Then the rest of day to see how it copes with the oil in my skin and if it helps to keep my shine at bay.

I've tried a lot of powders in my time, ranging from high street to high end and the only one Ive ever been happy with is Rimmels Stay Matte Translucent Powder, yep... a cheap as chips one! That was until I was sent PRIORI® Coffeeberry® Perfecting Minerals Finishing Touch.

PRIORI® is the first and only eco-friendly, Perfecting Minerals with CoffeeBerry® extract that protects and nurtures your skin without negatively impacting our environment! The line carries four products;

CoffeeBerry® Perfecting Foundations SPF 25
Perfecting Concealer SPF 25UVA 10, PA +++
Sun Kissed
Finishing Touch

"CoffeeBerry® Perfecting Minerals are 100% Natural, and the first and only skin caring mineral line that contains CoffeeBerry® extract, nature’s most potent anti-aging botanical, to fight free radicals and the causes of skin aging. CoffeeBerry® extract, the anti-aging and skin lightening agent that will keep your skin looking younger every day you wear them.

It is the ultimate perfecting mineral line that protects against both dangerous free radicals and the sun’s harmful UVA and UVB rays. CoffeeBerry® Perfecting Minerals care for your skin around the clock."

Finishing Touch is designed to be applied on top of your minerals to set them in place for a stay-fresh look. CoffeeBerry® Finishing Touch claims to keep oily shine in check and has a natural, matte finish. Minerals in the product scatter light to supposedly diminish the appearance of fine lines, and pores seem invisible.

Although I don't use Mineral Foundation. I didn't see any reason why this product wouldn't work well over liquid foundation

The powder itself is pinkish in colour, which did make me wonder if it would alter the colour of my foundation in any way. However once its on the skin it is invisible.

Its incredibly lightweight and feels really silky soft when brushed onto my skin and the first thing I noticed was how the pores on my forehead disappeared! It blends into my skin so well, that it doesn't leave any hint of a powdery finish. It just makes my skin look flawless! As far as the claim "making skin look younger day by day" goes, I can't really comment fully because I have only been using the powder for a few weeks. I will provide an update in a couple more weeks though to let you know if in fact using this product has had an improvement on my skin.

My initial thoughts on this product are nothing but good. I love the way it sets my foundation, love the way it makes the pores on my forehead disappear and I love how it keeps me shine free.

Available to purchase from http://www.cosmestore.co.uk/ priced at £32.00

Paco Rabanne Lady Million

I blog a lot about perfumes. I am admittedly a perfume junkie. Wearing a gorgeous scent changes the whole way I feel about myself and just adds the finishing touches. Going out without perfume, is basically like going out naked for me, because that's how I feel without any scent - naked

I have quite a largish collection, so its rare for me to say I have a favourite. I love each and everyone equally, but I do have a favourite at the moment, which is Paco Rabanne Lady Million.

I remember when my mum bought Gareth the male version - One Million, a few months back for his Birthday. I adored it on him and remembered thinking at the time "I hope they bring out a female version". A few months later and my wish was granted and Lady Million was released.

Although its a fruity fragrance, which sometimes I tend to struggle with and only wear for day time use as they just seen too "young" for me, the floral in this fragrance also makes it an ideal night time fragrance.
The floral notes and the hint of musk make it a bit spicy, warm, elegant and sophisticated. Its definitely a fruity/floral scent, but with a little added kick, which just makes it perfect for me. The added kick takes it away from being a fruity "teenage" fragrance and turns it into a alluring, glamorous fragrance.

The packaging of the scent is equally as gorgeous. Presented in a stunning multi-faceted golden bottle shaped like a diamond, It definitely suits the name Lady Million. Its inspiration was the famous Regent diamond, also known as the Millionaire Diamond, which resides in the Louvre.

Full notes of Lady Million include fresh top notes of bitter orange, fleshy raspberry and neroli, followed by floral notes of orange blossom and Arabian jasmine and base notes of patchouli, honey and amber.

Prices start at £33.00 for 30ml.

A few of my favourite hair products.

As Ive mentioned in the past, I tend not to swap and change my hair care products. Ive been lucky enough to find products that work really well for me, so I tend to stick with what I know. However Umberto Giannini Back Comb in a Bottle is one product I do want to try.

I thought I would show you a few of my most re-purchased hair products.

Sebastian Thickefy Foam (£15.49) -

This is probably my most favourite hair care product. I have very fine hair, but a lot of it. Its so hard to manage when freshly washed, as its just too thin and flyaway. Its a liquid to foam product, it looks liquid in the bottle but comes out of a foam. Before I blow dry my hair, this product is a necessity for me. I simply apply a small amount all through my hair then blow dry like normal and my hair is instantly thicker, more manageable and has an amazing amount of volume. Even after straightening the volume remains.

Aussie Volume Conditioning Mousse (£4.59) -

I use this combined with the Thickefy Foam when Im going out a night out and I want some serious volume in my hair, instead of it looking limp and lifeless. The two products work fantastic together. Unlike other mousses, it doesn't leave any stiff feeling in my hair, it just leaves it soft and bouncy, smelling gorgeous and looking shiny and healthy.

Sebastian Shaper Zero Gravity Hairspray (£11.79) -

Another Sebastian product I love is their Zero Gravity Hairspray. I tend to have my hair in a messy up do through the week. Its simply pulled up out of my way. I still like to set it with a hairspray though just to keep it looking a bit tidier. Zero Gravity is promoted for use on fine hair. Its incredibly lightweight but holds my hair in place whether its up or down, without any sign of product being apparent in my hair. A can of this always seems to last me ages as well, probably due to the fact that only a small amount is needed.

Sebastian products can be purchased from Beauty Bay and Aussie products from Boots.

Have you tried any of these products? Do you have any hair care products that you continue to re-purchase?

Clarins Barocco Winter Collection 2010

This is one collection that definitely needs to be on everybody's Christmas wish list. I remember seeing the promo images many moons ago over on British Beauty Blog and lusting over it immediately. It is definitely one of the most beautiful collections I have ever seen.

The collection contains 4 items -

- Barocco Rouge Prodige Lipstick (£16.00)
- Barocco Eye Colour Trio (£28.00)
- Barocco Gold Shimmer Powder For Face & Dècolletè (£29.00)
- Barocco Face Palette (£35.00)

Barocco Prodige Lipstick

The perfect shade for Winter and the Christmas season. The texture of these Lipsticks is fantastic. They really does hold their colour and shine for hours.

Barocco Eye Colour Trio

The Eye Trio contains three gorgeous shades. A wash of bronze to enhance the eyes, black to emphasize the eyelids and vibrant gold to catch the light and highlight the other two shades.

Barocco Gold Shimmer Powder For Face & Dècolletè

Now this is something special. As soon as I opened it, I was in awe as the gorgeous powder puff and gold nuggets looked up at me. This is going to look truly amazing when swept across my Décolletage for the up and coming party season.

Barocco Face Palette

This is pure luxury. There is nothing cheap about this palette, it weighs an absolute ton! I was shocked at how heavy is it. It is designed to instantly illuminate the complexion and give an ultra-natural, velvety finish. To touch, it is indeed velvety soft and feels luxurious. It contains 4 shades; pale pink, sun-kissed beige, sparkling coral and natural beige which when blended together  reveal the most gorgeous natural looking shade I have ever seen. I have used this every day lightly over my foundation and it just brightens up my complexion and makes my face come alive.

I urge you to take a look at this collection next time you are near a Clarins counter. This is truly not one to be missed!

If you would like to see any additional swatches, just let me know and I'll get on to it!

VICHY PURETE THERMAL Sensitive Eyes Make-up Remover Lotion.

I've never actually payed more than £5 for an eye make up remover. I love Boots Botanics one, which is around the £3 mark, so Ive never really been tempted to try any other brands, as I find that works really well and gets the job done. That was until I was placing an online order the other day at Boots and spotted VICHY PURETE THERMAL Sensitive Eyes Make-up Remover Lotion (£.9.00).

"The Sensitive Eyes Make-up Remover Lotion is especially formulated for make-up removal from the most sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers. It helps to soothe and decongest without irritating, stinging or swelling the eyelids and leaves the skin feeling clean comfortable and refreshed"

Normally I tend to not buy products on a whim, I usually read a few reviews online first before deciding whether to purchase or not, but with this I didn't. I just placed it in my basket.

Lately, for some unknown reason I have been suffering with sensitive eyes. Normally I can use a one step cleanser such as Liz Earle, Trilogy, Philosophy etc and remove my eye make up and my face make up in one go. However Ive found my eyes have been really stinging a lot and becoming blood shot after, so Ive had to use a separate eye make up remover.

The Vichy one sounded perfect, ideal for people with sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.

The first thing I noticed when using the product was the smell. Its smells absolutely gorgeous! I cannot put my finger on what it smells like, but I seriously could sit and sniff the bottle all night long. Its very gentle to use and causes no irritation to my eyes at all.  It also leaves no oily residue on the eyes after use, unlike Boots Botanics. My eyes just feel soft and smooth after use.

So does it work well at removing eye make up?

To remove my eye make up. I soak a cotton wool pad with remover and then place it over my eye area and hold it for a good 30 seconds, to help loosen the make up. I then gently remove the pad while wiping my eye area.

The product performs well and after holding a soaked cotton wool pad on my eye, It gently swipes away the majority of my eye make up with ease. I do have to turn the pad over and wipe again though and sometimes I do need to wipe a third time. I do wear quite a lot of eye make up though. I think it would be perfect for women who wear minimum eye make up and it would remove make up in one go. I do think it would struggle at removing water proof mascara though, as there's no oil in the product

Overall I really like the product. Its incredibly gentle on my eyes and I adore the smell and also how my eye feel after use. If Im honest though its not as good as an oil based eye make up remover and probably does take a little extra time to remove my make up.

Would I re-purchase? Im undecided yet, as there is a few other eye make up removers that I want to try. Bioderma being one and Cosmetic Candys Favourite - Softymo, being another.

VICHY PURETE THERMAL Sensitive Eyes Make-up Remover Lotion is available to purchase at Boots priced at £9.00
