The Mr. did good...

Because he only went and bought me a friggin ipad for Christmas!!!

How good is he?! I think he's for keeps :P It doesn't actually come with the keyboard dock, but he bought me that too!

Im not boasting by the way or showing off, because he worked damn hard to be able to buy me this and I love him so much for it.

It is literally the best thing ever and I never ever put it down, I think my children may even be neglected now haha.

That's a joke btw - no need to call social services.

I got loads of other nice presents too, with the best being from the other two boys in my life, Anton and Harvey. They got me loads of pj's and the best leopard print slipper boots! They know their mummy well.

So all in all, Ive had a fantastic time over Christmas and Im looking forward to what 2011 has to bring.

Products I want to try in 2011

When I did one of these posts last year for "products I want to try in 2010" and posted an update in the middle of the year, it was actually surprising to see that many of the products I listed, I'd actually managed to try.  Lets see how I get on with this list!

Lancome Hypnose Drama

The original Lancome Mascara is definitely one of my favourite products from 2010, so I want to purchase the drama version in 2011 and see how it fairs up.

MAC Pinch me Blush

I love my peachy/pink blushes, so this needs to be added to my collection.

Sugarpill Bulletproof Eyeshadow

Im currently on the hunt for the blackest of black eyeshadow and this one has been recommended a few time.

Thierry Mugler Alien

Ive recently used a sample of this and fell in love. Its so gorgeous and I definitely need a bottle.

Sarah Chapman Overnight Exfoliating Booster

I don't exfoliate my skin as much as I should, so this would be perfect for me. Its described as a night time detox exfoliant for dull, tired skin.

Avene Gentle Gel Cleanser

Im yet to try a Gel Cleanser plus I also want to explore Avene products a lot more in 2010 as Im so hooked on their Thermal Spring Water.

Chantecaille Cheek Shade

Ive been wanting the Chantecaille Cheek Shade in laughter for a while now, however I have been told that they are very sheer, so I may give this one a miss. Im still deciding.

Nip + Fab Eye Fix Brightening Concealer

Ive heard nothing but good things about this product, so its definitely on my list for 2011.

Rouge Bunny Rouge Solstice Halcyon Eyeshadow

2011 is definitely my year to try some Rouge Bunny Rouge products and first on my list is the gorgeous
Solstice Halcyon eyeshadow.

Any products you are itching to try in 2011?

Avon Matte Nail Polish - Grey as Cement

I love Matte Nail Polishes. When I need to do my nails and I don't have much time, I always turn to a matte polish as they are just so quick to use. They dry pretty much instantly and normally only one or two coats is needed.

Avon's Matte Polishes are just fantastic! One coat achieved the look below and Im loving the grey on my nails. I never actually thought I would like grey, but as soon as I applied it, I fell in love.

The quality of Avon's mattes is definitely one of the better matte polishes that I have tried. Ive had this on for three days so far and it hasn't chipped on me, which is unusual for a matte, they normally chip like mad after a day or so.

They retail at £6.00 on the Avon website, but are currently on offer for £3.00! Violetta is next on my list, it looks stunning!

The best budget mascara! - 2true Voluptulash Mascara

When it comes to make up Im not a brand snob, I'll try anything. The dearer the price doesn't always mean the better the product. One item of make up I'll try from any brand is Mascara. Ive got two Mascara's in my stash that I love and which are the ones I turn to when I want some serious volume in my lashes, L'oreal Voluminous Carbon Black and Lancome Hynose. One cost me around £6.00 and the other cost me £20.00. Ive now added a third - 2true Voluptulash Mascara, which costs.... £1.99!

I seriously cannot rate this mascara enough! I was open minded when I tried it, as like I said the higher the price doesn't always mean the higher the quality. I honestly didn't think it would come up to par with me beloved L'oreal Voluminous and Lancome Hypnose! only because out of all the volumising mascaras Ive tried, nothing has really matched these two.

The wand is slightly smaller than my other mascara wands, but I find it covers my lashes easily, darkens them really well and really builds up a nice amount of volume without any clumping. Considering I only have short lashes, it works really well at adding some length and also makes my lashes appear a lot fuller but also keeps them nice and separated. Its perfect for me to wear as a day to day mascara and when I want even more volume, I simply layer L'oreal Voluminious or Lancome Hypnose over the top, for mega thick and full lashes!

I do think mascara is an individual test and trial product, as Ive tried some of the best rated mascaras which simply did not work for me and didn't nothing to enhance the appearance of my lashes. However with this being priced at £1.99 you've got nothing to lose really by giving it a try, you could find it being a really welcome addition to your stash, just like I have!

Available from Superdrug.

Move over UGGs, Step aside EMUs - There's a new boot in my life.

Fitflop Tall FF Superboot (Suede)

Yep - I have some serious boot love going on. Not only are the Fitflop Superboots stylish and so comfortable but they also give me a work out when I walk! Now for a girl like me, these boots are a god send. I don't work out much, I wish I did but sadly I just don't have the time to make it to the gym anymore, not since Harvey was born. So when something offers to tone while just doing something I do every single day, which is walk - then I'm interested!

If you're not familiar with fitflops range of footwear and the concept behind them then the information below explains everything.

FitFlop footwear is biomechanically engineered to help tone and tighten your leg muscles while you walk in them. Studies at the Centre for Human Performance at London South Bank University (LSBU) show that normal walking in FitFlop sandals* can help:

- help increase leg and bottom muscle activity (up to 30%). (so you feel less ache in your hips and knees),

- absorb more shock than a normal shoe (up to 22%),

- help realign ground force reaction closer to your joints,

- reduce foot pressure.

FitFlop footwear features patent- pending muscle-loading Microwobbleboard™ technology and was independently tested at Salford University in Manchester by Dr Philip Graham Smith & Richard Jones to verify their pro-muscle activity prior to launch. (FitFlop has also been approved by the American Podiatric Medical Association - APMA.

When I first heard about Fitflops, I assumed it was only sandals they produced, but in fact they have sandals, shoes, cloggs, slippers and Boots. All of which have the same toning insoles.

The Superboots is available is short and tall, with the tall version being the pair I have. They're not cheap with the tall ones costing £150 and the short ones costing £100, but where shoes are concerned I do think paying for quality is worth it.

When I wore the boots for the first time I found them to be a little stiff, but after a couple of days they soon relaxed and softened and fit perfectly. It seemed to be like a little breaking in period. They are a pull on style and look just perfect teamed with a pair of leggings or skinny jeans, for a smart but casual look. What I was most surprised about is how comfy they are. I somehow had a misconception that the microwobble board might make them a bit uncomfy but I was so wrong. The fully cushioned soles offers fantastic support for the feet as well as being super comfortable. They are also really really warm. I haven't been wearing socks with mine and my feet have stayed toasty warm.

So do they increase my leg and bum activity?

Hell yeah! They are seriously amazing. The longest journey Ive been on while wearing them was when I walked to and back from town just before Christmas, which is about 6 miles (its nearly killed me by the way - but thats a whole different story) as I wanted to see if they worked basically, I wanted to see if my bum and legs would feel like they'd had a work out or not. By the time I got home, I could so feel the aching in my calves and bum. The walking trip that nearly killed me was so worth it. Its not just long journeys that I benefit from though, even with wearing them day to day and trawling round the shops etc, I can feel a slight ache in my muscles. They are also encouraging me to walk a lot more, instead of just jumping in my car.

Im not under any illusion that Im going to end up with a bum that could give J.Lo a run for her money, but they are definitely going to help tone and give my legs and bum a nice subtle workout, whilst going about my day to day activities.

The full range of Fitflop footwear can be found on the website and can also be purchased directly. There is also a 25% sale on at the moment, so if you was thinking of purchasing a pair of Fitflops, now is the time.

The short FF Superboots are so calling my name!

Loving - Mint Carmex!

Sticking to the same Lip Balm would be like sticking to the same Lipstick, I just can't do it. I like to swap and change which ones I use frequently. The one Im loving at the moment and using like its going out of fashion is Carmex Mint.

This Lip Balm literally does it all. It soothes and heals the roughness of dry lips, replaces moisture and has and SPF of 15 to protect lips from sunburn. Not like that matters at the moment with the weather we've got though. It still always wise to use an SPF on the lips though.

It has a amazing menthol (which is germ killing) peppermint smell and gives off a slight tingle on the lips. I love the way mint tingles on my lips. It provides the perfect amount of moisture, soothes my dry and chapped lips in a rapid amount of time, doesn't leave my lips feeling greasy and works really well under Lipstick. What more could a girl want!

If you love Carmex and you love Mint, then you need Carmex Mint in your life!

Available from Boots, Superdrug and ASOS priced at £2.50.

My Christmas Pleasures!

Baileys is definitely my Christmas drink. Mmmmmmm!

Without a doubt, I always get pj's for Christmas and I love nothing more than putting them on after a long tiring Christmas day and getting cosy and comfy.

Christmas dinner is just the BEST! I never have breakfast on Christmas day, so by the time Ive had a few glasses of baileys, Im more than ready for the big tasty feast that awaits me! Yumma Yumma!

The Royal Family Tv Show. Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without watching the Royal Family! Whether is a repeat on a new one of show, its still top quality tv!

I only ever buy and eat Ferrero Rochers at Christmas. No idea why, its just my Christmas thing. I hide them too, cos I don't like sharing :P

The Queens Speech. Haha..no Im joking. I don't think Ive ever watched her Christmas speech the whole way through, but you know what... I might just this year!

My one true pleasure at Christmas though, is my Boys.

Seeing their little faces light up on Christmas day is the most precious thing in the world.

Oh... I don't dress Anton is Royal Blue Jumpers by the way ha, that's his school uniform!

What are your Christmas pleasures?

Art Deco Eye Designer

I love the simple life. When Ive not got time to spend a decent amount of time to apply my make up, I like products that simplify the job and the Art Deco Eye Designer does just that.

I was recently sent two testers of the Eye Designer for review consideration and have quickly fallen in love. They are very similar to my Pixi Lid and Line Eyeshadow applicators which I adore.

The shadow is a refillable cartridge attached to a high quality spring applicator which is made of rubicell latex and is suitable for the most sensitive eyes. The applicator makes the shadow a breeze to apply and blend and a gorgeous look can be created within minutes. Once you have the Eye Design applicator the eyeshadow cartridges can be replaced by the same shadow or replaced with a different shadow.

Although the testers I was sent only have one applicator the standard Eye Design has two different shaped applicators. The wide applicator can be used for an all over colour to the lid and the smaller applicator can be used for more precision application. With the cartridges only costing £6.50 each from the Garden.co.uk its affordable to mix and match and have a whole stash of shades to use!

The shadow applies beautifully, has a gorgeous sheen and last the whole day without fading or creasing. The two shades I have are a gorgeous Taupe and a stunning greyish/purple shade. Just my kind of shades!Just perfect for a quick and easy no fuss, gorgeous look.

All Art Deco products can be purchased online at Garden.co.uk

Have you tried any Art Deco products? Do you have any recommendations?

Last minute gift idea - Green & Spring Mini Body Set

There's always one person you forget to get a Christmas present for (or is that just me?) and most of the time its always someone who's that little bit special not just Mary from next door or long lost uncle Bob, so why do I forget then?! God knows. I do have a memory like a goldfish though!

So If you're like me and looking for some last minute gift ideas then Green and Spring have some gorgeous gifts set available, including this adorable Mini Body Set.

The set contains the Revitalising Exfoliating Body Wash 50ml, the Relaxing Body Lotion 50ml and an Indulging Travel Candle 37g

Its just the perfect little gift and a great introduction to Green & Spring products, which are all handmade natural products inspired by the the idyllic English countryside. All products are created using herbs and flowers native to the British Isles.

Since taking the above pics, I have actually indulged in a revitalising scrub with the body wash, it smells just like the outdoors and really perked me up and left my skin baby soft perfect for the application of my fake tan (Im not embracing my winter paleness. Not a chance!) I can't bear to light the adorable mini candle just yet though, I'm going to save that for when I get chance for a nice long hot soak in the bath. I doubt I will have the chance for some much needed pampering for a few days though sadly, as Harvey (my youngest son) has a severe case of tonsillitis and is very clingy. I can guarantee that when I finally do manage to get into a nice hot steamy bath and light my candle, it'll be just the relaxation I need!

Green and Spring products are available to purchase from Liberty or directly from their website.

Have you tried any Green and Spring products? Let me know!

Clinique Even Better Foundation

A reader contacted me a while ago asking about Clinique's Even Better Foundation, she had read my review on Clinique's Anti Blemish Solutions Foundation and was interested on my thoughts on their Even Better Foundation. So never being one to disappoint, I set myself a challenge to try the foundation and provide a review. Im good like that!

"New Even Better Foundation SPF15 oil free formula, a powerful foundation developed to help combat hyper-pigmentation and deliver brighter skin, both immediately and over time. Includes treatment benefits to help even skin tone and SPF protection to help prevent future hyper-pigmentation. Provides moderate to full coverage, leaving skin instantly perfected with a unique mineral blend".

Clinique class this as a foundation suitable for every skin type. I have Normal/Combination skin. An oily t zone but pretty normal everywhere else, if not kept in check though I am prone to dryness.

To apply its really light in texture but offers a very nice medium coverage. It sits nicely on my skin and doesn't sink into my pores or leave my skin feeling heavy and clogged. It evens out my skin tone really well and doesn't struggle with slight blemishes and imperfections. The finish it provides is very natural looking and somewhat dewy even after powder is applied, leaving my complexion looking healthy and fresh but not shiny, which can be my end result when using more dewy foundations. Its a great foundation for day to day wear. Its long lasting, doesn't slide or struggle on my oily t zone and keeps my skin looking fresh throughout the day. I do prefer a more fuller matte coverage though for night time wear, to cover my more heavy blemishes, but for day time use this cannot be faulted. It actually reminds me a lot of Maybelline's Satin Finish Foundation and provides a very similar finish. Once again its definitely a thumbs up from me for Clinique Foundation. Im yet to be dissapointed. The next one on my list to try is their Superfit Foundation.

Even Better Foundation is available from Boots priced at £19.50

Elemis Anti Ageing Detox Regime

The festive season can without a doubt take its toll on my skin. The alcohol is flowing, the late nights are happening plus there's them nights after too many glasses of wine, that I forget to take my make up off and just crash out in bed. Well that's a lie really, if my make up doesn't get taken off its probably because Im too drunk and don't even make it to my bed!.

Elemis have thought of all this though and come to the rescue. Throughout January 2011 they have some fantastic limited edition collections being released which are perfect if you are looking to follow a detox regime at home and help your skin recover from all the festivities.

One of the collections being released is the Anti Ageing Detox Regime. The collection contains five of Elemis' best-selling anti-ageing products especially selected to detox and transform skin in 14 days.

Products included are:

* Papaya Enzyme Peel 15ml

* Pro-Intense Eye & Lip Contour Cream 5ml

The collection will be priced at £35.00 which gives you a saving of over 50% as the set is worth over £68.00!

I will review all the products in the collection separately, but I can already tell you that their Pro Collagen Marine Cream is fantastic! and if I could afford to use this all year round, I definitely would.

The Detox Regime will be available to purchase from 1st - 31st Janaury 2011. Available in spas, salons, selected department stores and http://www.timetospa.co.uk/

Models Own Gold Rush Ready to Wear

A few weeks ago I posted about the world most expensive Nail Polish - Models Own Gold Rush which retails at £83,000 yep... 83 grand! Now obviously, none of us have got 83 grand to spend on a nail polish so Models Own have released a purse friendly option which is available to purchase online now for £5.00

Gold Rush Ready To Wear

Its quite sheer to apply and the swatch above took me 3 coats. However it is gorgeous! Im thinking it will be perfect to layer on top of another polish for some bling!

Oh by the way, if you was thinking of buying me a Christmas gift, the £83,000 bottle would do nicely!
