Liz Earle's Skin Secrets is described as a book what every woman needs in their life. An indispensable guide to having naturally beautiful skin, throughout your life.
Liz herself suffered with very bad eczema from an early age and worked as a beauty journalist for many years, before launching her own award-winning beauty brand. Liz has the experience and wisdom needed to offer her knowledge and secrets on how to protect and nurture our skin. The knowledge and advice she offers in the book is uncomplicated, easily understandable and completely honest. There is also a nice personal feel to it, with pictures of Liz, her children and her friends.
Liz doesn't thrown all her own products in your face during the book, in fact while browsing the book up to now, I don't think I have seen one of her products mentioned. Its not a guide to skincare products, its a book that focuses on the biology of the skin and helping you to understand how it works and get to know your own skin better. and the best ways to look after your skin.
There's 9 chapters in total which are:
Chapter 1 - What influences your skin.
The first chapter of the book focuses on how skin works and the fundamentals that will improve it, such as food, exercises, stress etc. It also features a nice guide on how to find your skin type and to test your skin type.
Chapter 2 - Plants that love your skin
Pure natural plant oils are often used in skincare and in this chapter Liz talks about some of her favourites and the benefits they have on skin.
Chapter 3 - How to have lovely skin
Chapter 4 - Caring for your skin
In this chapter Liz not only offers her advice on skincare but also body care. She covers all skincare subjects such as the basic cleanse, tone and moisturise, exfoliation, face mask, facial massage and also covers body care such as body scrubs, cellulite, hand and feet care and also caring for your breasts.
Chapter 5 - The sun and your skin
The sun is one of the biggest agers of the skin. This chapter covers everything you need to know, so you can stay safe in the sun.
Chapter 6 - Skin Problems and Solutions
Liz offers her expert advice on all skin problems in this chapter such as eczema, psoriasis, acne, rosacea, dark circles and hair and scalp problems.
Chapter 7 - Feed your skin
This is one chapter I have really taken some great information from. I don't think about what I eat and obviously what I eat has an effect on my skin. Liz explains how good food gives us the building block for good skin.
Chapter 8 - Everyday fitness
Exercise is important where general well being is concerned. Regular exercise increases blood flow which in turn delivers skin building nutrients which then feeds our skin resulting in bright sparkling eyes and a radiant glow. In this chapter Liz offers some simple routines to help you do a few simple exercises each day, which in turn helps the skin.
Chapter 9 - Relax, unwind, sleep
I don't think half of us get the amount of sleep that we should do and this chapter helps to highlight just how important sleep really is and how much sleep and relaxation have a big impact on the skin.
As you can see the book is filled with fantastic information and covers a wide range of subject. If you are interested in not only looking after your skin a lot more, but also your body and general health, then Liz Earle Skin Secrets is a must buy. I wouldn't be without mine and I know it'll be a book which will constantly be read and looked at over the years.
Skin Secret is available to purchase directly from the Liz Earle website priced at £19.99. It will be the best £19.99 you will ever spend... trust me!
