Shiseido Shimmering Rouge Lipsticks. New for S/S 2011

One of the perks of writing my blog, is that occasionally I get sent products to try from brands that Im not really familiar with. Shiseido is one of these brands. I've always attached a bit of a stigma is Shiseido ever since I was 16 and my first boyfriends mum worked on the Shiseido counter and obviously used a lot of their products. I've always kinda looked at the brand as being aimed for the more mature woman. Not that the mum in question was old, but for a little 16 year old me, she was a big woman and was really glamorous with it. Now I've had the chance to sample a few products from the brand though, I've well and truly got the Shiseido bug.

I was sent quite a mixture of products to try, Cosmetics, Skincare and Body care. Im currently using the Skincare and Body Care products and will share my thoughts of them at a later date but for now I want to share with you the two Shimmering Rouge Lipsticks that I was sent. How super sleek is the packaging of these babies!

"Luxurious shine and plumping action, achieve a just applied with adhesive gel oils. All day moisture lasts up to 8 hours with a shimmering, glossy and lustrous finish"

If you looking for a Lipstick that offer shine, looks like a gloss but feels like a Lipstick and also plumps the lips, then these will be your thing! Shiseido say "Used regularly, Shimmering Rouge enhances the natural fullness and plumpness of the lips, while helping to improve their texture and overall condition. These plumping effects work immediately, giving lips new fullness from the moment the rouge is applied, and continuing to plump them even after cleansing".

Plumping Effects

Photo-Smoothing Peal is Shiseido’s exclusive dual-layer spherical pearl ingredient. It is created by covering spherical powder with a layer of distinctive pearl. This innovative spherical shape enhances the light dispersing effect which visually corrects uneven vertical lip lines, giving the lips a fuller look.

The Super-Bio Yeast Extract helps promote production of fibroblasts that enhance the skin’s support mechanism. It also assists in the production of collagen and hyaluronic acid which are crucial for maintaining skin’s resilience and therefore giving fuller, plumper lips.

The Super Hydro-Wrap Vitalizing DE is an advanced moisturizing ingredient containing an oil that blends extremely well with water. For this reason, it can create a highly protective veil over the lips, replenishing skin with water, while sealing in moisture. Lips look luscious, and their moisture is optimally maintained.

Im loving sheer gloss like Lipsticks at the moment, so these are right up my street. They are so smooth to apply and glide on the lips giving just the right amount of colour pay off, with a stunning sheen. Although they do contain shimmer bits, there is no hint of grittiness at all, just buttery soft smoothness. Considering they are sheer too, they last a decent amount of time before a top up is needed.

PK407 Stiletto - A wicked bright blue-pink.

This looks like a hot pink in the tube and probably a colour that I would normally steer clear of to be honest, but once applied on the lips, this is simply a WOW shade. It is a bright blue pink shade, but because its sheer its not so much "in your face". The shimmer is stunning! seriously stunning. Although it does contain shimmer bits, there is no hint of grittiness at all, just buttery soft smoothness.

PK311 Pink Champagne - An effervescent peachy pink

For me, this is a "my lips but better shade". When applied it looks so natural looking on the lips, but its easily a shade that could take you to from day to night. It has slight golden shimmer, which is gorgeous when it catches the light.

Although these are not cheap with being priced at £19.50 they are gorgeous Lipsticks and I definitely have my eye on a few of the nude shade. There is 13 shades in total, which are listed below.

Any taking your fancy?

Is Shiseido still readily available in the UK? They used to have it in my local John Lewis but it disappeared a few years ago.
