Cosmetic Dentistry is something that has always interested me. This may be due to the fact that I long for that perfect white smile and plan to have Porcelain Veneers in the near future. I thought the article below may be helpful, in case you too are looking into having some form of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Dentistry today is very different than what it was ten years ago. There are new ways to do a procedure and there are new procedures to do. You can relax when you go to the dentist now. Here are a few services offered with cosmetic dentistry.
Tooth Whitening
Everyone wants a whiter smile and although there are products available over the counter to help whiten the teeth, there is no guarantee on how much whiter the teeth will be at the end. When you get your teeth whitened through cosmetic dentistry you get a professionally white smile that is worth every single penny. In order to whiten your teeth, a cosmetic dentistry office will use a laser procedure to whiten the teeth. With this professional procedure the application will last longer and take less time.
Dental Implants
As a person ages, there are many factors that can affect the health and stability of their teeth. Eventually teeth begin to chip, crack, and break off leaving you feeling embarrassed every time you smile. Dental implants can make a difference in restoring your smile and raising your self esteem. Most of the work can be done in as little as one visit with minimal discomfort.
Porcelain Veneers
If you want a smile that looks completely brand new without losing your teeth then porcelain veneers may be the choice for you. Your teeth need to be healthy enough to attach the adhesive to the natural teeth and then a thin porcelain covering will go over each tooth giving you a brand new smile. The porcelain veneers can hide imperfections such as cracks or chips in the natural teeth. Porcelain veneers are usually completed in two appointments because in most cases, you will need to get fitted for them and then come back on the second visit in order to have them applied to your teeth.
Dental Crowns
When the tooth becomes damaged and decayed on the inside, then dental crowns may be the answer. Once the tooth is hollowed out and the nerve has been destroyed, the crown will be moulded to fit the original tooth. This procedure is quite expensive but you will not need to replace your teeth anymore.
Your smile is important; it is a part of you that makes you who you are. If you are not happy with your smile then visit a cosmetic dentistry office to find out how you can look and feel better about yourself. Once you start cosmetic dental procedures it is very important to finish them otherwise your smile won’t be the way that you want it to look and you be even more embarrassed then you were to begin with.

I am angling for tooth whitening but not yet managed to convince the OH that its necessary! Hope you do before and after pics of veneers, would LOVE veneers but the process scares me rigid!
