Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Bronzers

If you are anything like me and bronzer is a daily staple in your make up routine, then Estee Lauder has all your bronzing needs covered with Bronze Goddess Bronzers. The three Bronzers cater for whichever bronze look you prefer, whether it be Matte for the naturally bronze finish, Shimmer which gives skin an illuminated shimmering golden glow or maybe you prefer to use a duo bronzer, to really sculpt and contour your look.

Bronze Goddess Soft Matte Bronzer (£26.00)

"Give yourself a heavenly glow with this silky, luxurious powder bronzer.Unique oil-control complex keeps skin shine-free and comfortable.Smooth, oil-free powder is perfect for giving face, shoulders and décolletage a healthy bronze look. Sweep on all over to enhance existing color or to create the look of a fabulous tan"

If you are looking for a matte bronzer that will not make you look muddy or orange, but create the illusion of a gorgeous natural tan, then I definitely recommend this. It is so easy to work with and the shade is just perfect for my skin tone. Although its quite thicker than my normal bronzer, It applies beautifully with a really nice even colour pay off. It is quite pigmented, so very pale skin tones would have to be just a little careful not to over apply.

Bronze Goddess Soft Shimmer Bronzer (£26.00)

"Give yourself a heavenly shimmer glow with this luminous powder bronzer. Sweep over face, shoulders, décolletage or wherever you want a glamorous highlight. Oil-free."

Although I don't normally favour a shimmer bronzer, I have found using a little of this on the warm summer nights we have been having recently, to be just perfect. Lightly swept just across my cheekbones it gives the most gorgeous shimmer glow, which is not overly shimmery and sparkly, just nice and natural looking.

Bronze Goddess Soft Duo Bronzer (£26.00)

"Give yourself a heavenly glow with this super-luxurious powder bronzer duo.Unique oil-control complex keeps skin shine-free and comfortable. Two smooth, oil-free shades blend brilliantly to give face, shoulders and décolletage a seductive bronze look."

If you love to really work your facial features and contour then this is perfect bronzer for achieving a sculpted look. The two shades work and blend beautifully together and I can see this being perfect for people with a very pale skin tone, as the lighter shade tones down the darker shade when used together.

Although the bronzers are not cheap at £26.00 you do get more than your moneys worth as the compacts are absolutely HUGE! Plus there is an added bonus of a nice big mirror inside. The packaging is nice and sturdy and although it is quite big, I have no problems carrying it around in my handbag. The sturdiness of it keeps me confident that there's no chance of it breaking and shattering while in my bag.

My favourite of the three is definitely the matte bronzer. I do favour a matte bronzer, as I like to look as bronzed as natural and I find this is the perfect shade to achieve that look.

Available from Estee Lauder counters nationwide priced at £26.00 each.

Leaner looking legs with Bliss Slimulator

Although I would describe my legs as my best asset, Im not as young as I used to be and Im starting to notice that my beloved pins are not quite as nice as they used to be. Im talking about Cellulite. That dreaded orange peel effect that appears on the skin. Thankfully, I don't have a lot of it. To an outsider they would probably look at my legs and say I don't have any at all. But I examine them and Im starting to notice a little difference. So Ive been trying to nip any signs of cellulite in the bud and using The Slimulator from Bliss for the past few weeks.

Circulation stimulating slimulator for leaner looking legs

The product is a rubber cellulite-scrubber which is used to help waken up your surface circulation which in turn will then help to  move fat-trapping fluids. It stimulates drainage of any excess fluids which are trapped in areas such as your thighs.

Its such an easy product to use and takes literally a few minutes to give you're legs a nice massage while in the shower. It does need to be used in the shower as the skin needs to be lubricated for you to be able to really work it into the thigh area.

I've been using mine daily for the past couple of weeks and have definitely noticed a difference in my legs. my whole thigh areas seems to feels a lot more smoother and firmer and Im no longer looking at my thighs and being niggled by little changes that have been happening. Massage is one of best thing you can do to prevent cellulite from forming and this handy little product makes massaging so easy and quick, with it just being incorporated into daily showering. Although its such a simple and non complicated product, I think it really does work. I've got no complaints at all and I now feel confident enough to whip out some shorts and get my pins on show again!

Available to purchase from Blissworld.co.uk priced at £15.40

The key to preventing premature ageing - Sun Protection

Considering Im big on the whole anti ageing thing and take great care in using products to help with premature ageing, I have never really payed much attention to the fact that the sun is the biggest ager of all and using an SPF daily is essential in preventing premature ageing. Most of the products I use daily do contain an added SPF, but I also use some moisturisers and foundations that don't have any SPF protection and I have never thought to use a seperate sunscreen. It is only recently after reading a lot online that I have begun to really understand the benefits of SPF and the importance of using it daily, whatever the weather. SPF is not just for the summer months. To prevent aging caused by UV rays, sunscreen should be used every day of the year, whether it be a nicer sunny day or even if it is a cloudy, dull, drizzly day. Its important all year round.

Although most of the moisturisers and foundations I use do contain an added SPF, most only offer a small amount, which is usually SPF 15 from my experience. I have read that It is recommended to use an SPF of 30 or above. This helps prevent the skin from premature aging and also help with existing signs of aging by preventing existing wrinkles from getting any deeper. I decided it would me more beneficial to use a seperate facial sunscreen daily, even if my moisturiser and foundation contain SPF. I already had one facial sunscreen tucked away in a drawer (so I must have thought about sun damage at some point! shame I didn't know how important it was at the time!) and I also acquired another one recently.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Sun Defense for Face SPF 50

"This lightweight, oil-free lotion helps protect your skin from sun exposure while hydrating for up to 8 hours. The powerful SPF 50 helps shield skin from harmful UVA/UVB rays that can cause sunburn, surface skin cell damage and premature signs of aging. Provides powerful SPF 50 PA+++ protection to help shield skin against UVA/UVB rays that can cause sunburn, surface skin cell damage and premature signs of aging".

Its easy to see why this product is an award winner. It provides some amazing protection. I have found myself being put off by one small and stupid thing though, which is the scent. It seems to smell quite different from the traditional 8 hour cream and its a strong scent that does linger and I can smell it for quite a while after application. I cannot actually form a full review on this product as of yet, as I have only used it once. I can say though that apart from the smell though I like everything else about it. Its nice and lightweight and applies nicely, although once I added a moisturiser on top my skin did feel quite greasy, so I don't actually think a separate moisturiser will be needed. It does promise to keep skin hydrated though using the revolutionary eight hour formulation, while preventing the effects of the sun. I think this will be more beneficial to me in the summer months though when we see some serious sun, so for now its gone back in the drawer until we get some proper sunshine and then I will definitely be using it, regardless of the scent.

Healthspan Nurture SPF 30 Daily Face Protector

This is my preferred choice of sunscreen at the moment.

"A light refreshing concentrated cream, for all areas regularly exposed to the sun. Conforms to the Boots 5-star rating system of protection against damaging UVA rays (responsible for premature skin ageing), blocking at least 90%. Also gives high factor protection from both UVB rays (responsible for sunburn). Protects skin and fights the appearance of wrinkles caused by sun exposure.

With skin saving, micro-fused antioxidant vitamin E, soothing aloe vera and moisturising pro-vitamin B5 it will help keep your skin supple, protected and hydrated throughout the day. Suitable for year round use on the most delicate areas; face, chest and hands"

This is so lightweight to use and soaks into my skin immediately, leaving no greasy residue at all. It smells amazing and for the last couple of days I have been using it without a moisturiser as it contains moisturising properties so I have found it enough to keep my skin hydrated and soft all day long. Priced at £6.45 this is really good value for money. I really recommend this if you are looking a cheap but effective sunscreen for the face and neck. For me it feels and applies just the same as the Elizabeth Arden which is a lot pricier at £22.47. I really think this is a product that women just cannot afford to be without. Its a bargain!

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Sun Defense for Face SPF 50 can be purchased at Boots and Healthspan Nurture SPF 30 Daily Face Protector online at Healthspan.co.uk

Origins Brighter By Nature Skin Tone Correcting Make Up

Origins New Brighter By Nature Skin Tone Correcting Make Up (sorry for the mouthful!) is a product that caught my attention as soon as it was released. Its a compact powder foundation with SPF 30 which aims to help fix flaws, block skin-damaging UV rays and give a long-lasting, natural finish. It claims to control oil for hours without settling into pores and even out and brighten skin tone.

I think the main worry for everyone where powder foundation is concerned, is basically that it doesn't look powdery on the skin and cling to every single tiny folic of hair. I also think many people worry that they are not going to get the coverage they need when using a powder foundation. I think its fairly obvious that a heavy coverage cannot be gained from a powder foundation, but if you want a product that will apply like a dream, literally taking 2 minutes for full application, offer light/medium coverage and managing to cover blemishes and discolouring while still looking as natural as can be, then throw your worries aside and try this foundation!.

I have so much to say about this foundation, that the easiest way for me to do this, is to tell it to you straight.

- Quick and easy to apply with the sponge included
- Light/Medium coverage gained easily
- Covers blemishes with ease
- Provides a fantastic finish which makes skin appear to be make up free
- Fantastic shade range
- Controls oil very well

I find its best to apply after moisturiser has been on for 5 minutes or so, just so skin is nice, soft and supple to work with. The sponge included works perfectly and the shade I have which is light-cool is a spot on perfect match for my skin tone. There are 11 shades available so I think there will be a match for most people. If you have dry skin, then I wouldn't recommend. Powder foundation will only accentuate the dryness of your skin. When I say it covers blemishes with ease, Im not talking really bad skin conditions. I have scarring and find it covers easily, although it could struggle with more serious acne skin conditions. If you skin is normal/oily which is what mine is at the moment (I haven't had dry patches for quite a while) then you will find no problem using this foundation, but even if you have slight dry patches, you may find it wont work. It also works really well as a finishing powder over my foundation.

Suitable for - Normal/Oily Skin
Dry Skin - Skip it.

Overall - I really like it! Perfect for when Im short on time.

Avilable from Origins online or Boots priced at £24.00

Who's a moody cow?

Definitely not me thanks to Cowshed's Moody Cow Balancing Travel Candles (£22.00). Don't you just love the name!

"Moody Cow Balancing Room Candle is a floral, oriental blend that restores harmony with essential oils of rose geranium, linden blossom and frankincense. Rose geranium helps to relax, linden blossom frees the mind, whilst frankincense soothes and calms".

I've never really been one for candles, until recently. My boys adore having one lit and I think it really helps to relax us all and wind down the boys ready for bed. The Moody Cow travel set is perfect as it contains 4 mini candles, which I scatter around the living room and light. They smell absolutely gorgeous and are a real treat for the senses. I love the smell that fills the room from these and although Im not often a moody cow, when I am feeling a bit tense or its "that time of the month" the lingering smell of these seems to totally unwind me and help to ease the stresses of the day.

I so need the Horny Cow Seductive Travel Candles in my life now! (wink wink)

MAC Bite of an Apple Blush DUPE

MAC Bite of an Apple blush which was released as part of the Venomous Villains Collection, is definitely my most worn blush. Its the blush I turn to most and I would go as far as to say its a favourite for me, out of all the blushes I own. Sadly though it was Limited Edition. Always the way. I find something I love and its an LE product.

I've been on the look out for a dupe for quite a while now, as we all know that with MAC its impossible to say whether they will release the product again, at some time in the future.

I've been interested in La Femme Blushes since Goss Make Up Artist first spoke about them on his You Tube Channel, but as they were only available in the US, they were not easy to get hold off. I was surprised when browsing on Love Make Up a couple of days ago, to find they now stock them! Obviously I ordered a few shades. I received my blushes this morning and as soon as I opened my package and saw the shade Coral, I knew I had my Bite of an Apple dupe!!!

Left - Bite of an Apple. Right - La Femme Coral

They are definitely close enough for me! The La Femme Blush is a hell of a lot more pigmented that the MAC blush though, which is simply amazing as it only cost £2.99! I am so pleased with the quality of these blushes, they cannot be faulted in any way. The only downside is that they come in pan form, but that just gives me an excuse to get the 12 slot palette also from Love Make Up and fill it up!

If you are blush addict like me, you so need to take a closer look at La Femme Blushes. There are 41 shades available on Love Make Up all priced at £2.99. Bargain!!!!

Nars Pure Matte Lipstick in Madere

Its fair to say that when a new nude Lipstick is released, sooner or later it'll be in my possession. I've been lusting over Nars Pure Matte Lipstick in Madere ever since it was released and I mean seriously lusting. The fact that it is a matte lipstick didn't put me off one bit, I love the whole matte trend on lips and I think if lips are in good enough condition, matte lipstick can be worn with ease and not make the lips look dry or cracked.

The formula of this lipstick is without a doubt better than any other matte lipstick I have tried. The ingredients of Vitamin E, Acai Oil and Wild Mango help to nourish and moisturise the lips and also help repair the lips from dryness and flaking, basically Its matte but moisturising at the same time. I was actually shocked at how creamy it is to apply, the rich texture really does just glide onto the lips. The staying power is fantastic. It lasts a good few hours on the lips, without drying out and even then I find just a little bit of lip balm or gloss is needed instead of a full top up off lipstick.

Matte Lips are bang on trend at the moment and if you are looking to follow that trend, then Nars Pure Matte Lipsticks will be your answer. Matte but moisturising, what more could a girl want!

Crazy Angel Self Tanning Products

I received some exciting new tanning products to try out this week, so I thought I would do a quick post let you know a bit more about the brand.

It is attained through naturally derived DHA and Erythrulose without the use of Alcohol, Parabens or Mineral Oil. Bearberry extracts soften and caress you skin whilst leaving your halo intact.

The products I was sent are:

"Make the most of your tan with this supreme body moisturiser specially formulated to prolong a natural or self-tan

Rich in Bearberry and Shea Butter to moisturise and nourish the skin while the mild tanning agent helps to extend the life your tan."

Wing Smoothing Spray (£10.00)

"Wing Smoothing Spray is the perfect base to achieve a flawless and even tan

When applied to dry areas such as elbows, knees, ankles and feet, Wing Smoother helps prevent a build up of tan on these potential problem areas

Enriched with Bearberry to help moisturise deep into the skin, can also be used as an all over body moisturiser to help prolong the tan."

Halo Polish Body Scrub (£10.00)

"A luxurious body scrub that refines and polishes to reveal fresh new skin - the perfect base for tanning

Now Im normally loyal to my Sienna X tan (review coming soon), which I absolutely love, so Im actually quite excited to be given the opportunity to try another brand and see how it fairs.

Full reviews of all products will be coming soon... so keep your eyes peeled!

Have you tried any Crazy Angel products?

Dr Brandt Microdermabrasion - FANTASTIC!!!!

I've had my eye on Dr Brandt's Microdermabrasion for quite a while, after reading many rave reviews on Make Up Alley etc. I actually don't think I have read one bad review on this product, it seems to be a product that everybody loves!

So what is it?

Its an exfoliating face cream, formulated with pharmaceutical-grade crystals, lactic acid and soothing botanicals which polishes away dead skin cells, smoothes skin’s texture and reveals radiance. It is said to mimic an in-office procedure and provides maximum results in minimal time.

One word for this product - AMAZING! Seriously amazing. Although I don't need to exfoliate regularly now as I use an exfoliating lotion every night, this product is my one little luxury in life. The results after using are instant. I don't think I have ever used an exfoliating scrub that has left the texture of my skin feeling feathery soft. I was actually quite amazed the first time I used it and felt my skin afterwards. Not only does it leave my skin feeling smooth and even it also looks radiant immediately after use. Like it has really been polished to perfection and new fresh skin has been revealed.

It's a pleasure to use and had a really soothing scent to it. The crystals are very fine and don't feel abrasive on the face at all. It actually feels quite heavenly massaging the product on my skin. At present I only use mine once a week, but I will probably up it to twice a week soon. Once a week is working fine for me at the moment though and the feathery soft skin and radiant glow I instantly gain stay with me until my next use. Although the jar does seem quite small, especially for the price (£64.00) only a tiny amount of product is needed to cover the whole face, so I have no qualms that it will last me a good few months.

It's no wonder this product has won awards and Dr Brandt is one of the most sought after dermatologist, because this is definitely a product I rate and recommend highly. Gwyneth Paltrow is also said to be a fan and recently told Dr Brandt "Microdermabrasion is a miracle. I use it once a week to maintain a smooth, bright complexion" so if it's good enough for Gwyn, it's good enough for Jo!

Available from Space NK priced at £64.00

Have you tried any Dr. Brandt products?

A little Twitter observation

Do you ever lie in bed at night, totally thinking of random things then think to yourself "why the hell am I thinking about that."

That was me last night.

I found myself thinking about twitter. Strange..I know.

More precisely twitter followers.

I came to the conclusion there are three types of twitter followers.

1) - The Silent Follower.

The follower that just lingers in the background, never tweets you, never really tweets in general actually but just likes to watch and read. Bit like my eldest Brother. He's my silent follower. He follows a few other people too, but silently. He'll say "Oh I saw your tweet the other day about such a thing" but he'll never tweet me back.

2) - The 'If you don't follow me back, I'll unfollow' follower

You know the one I mean. You get an email saying for example "Sarah is now following you" then two days later you get an update email from unfollow (I have that.. Im a nerd) saying "Sarah is not following you any longer".  These followers confuse me a bit. If you tweeted me, I would definitely reply and then follow you back, but quite frankly Im not going to follow everyone that follows me, because as mentioned above, there are a lot of silent followers and Im not going to up my following list, following a load of people that don't speak!

3) - The interactive follower.

My fave followers. They start following and have followed to interact. They don't get pissy if you don't follow them back after one of two tweets to each other, they know eventually that the more you interactive then you're likely to follow back and then its all happy days! I'll happily speak to anyone on twitter and have no qualms about following anyone who followers me, as long as you speak. I really don't need to be following a mute now do I. It's just pointless. However I still do love my mute followers, especially my big bro, nothing wrong with being silent and just watching and reading, I like the fact they don't get pissy if you don't follow them back, unlike the The 'If you don't follow me back, I'll unfollow' follower.

So all in all. I love my Silent Followers, I love my interactive followers but the The 'If you don't follow me back, I'll unfollow' follower, you just confuse me.

Paula's Choice RESIST Cleanser and Toner

Ever since trying and loving my first two Paula's Choice products, 2% BHA Liquid and Illicit Lash Maximum Impact Mascara I think I've become slightly obsessed with the brand. There is literally so many products that I want to try. The brand seems to carry products that cater for all my skin care issue. I have blemish prone skin, but Im also aging (30 in just under 2 weeks ) so I need to use a range of products that keep my skin under control and also help prevent premature ageing. I also love simple the no fuss packaging of the products, which clearly shows that more money has been used on the actual products rather than the fancy packaging.

Two products I've been using for around 3 weeks now are from the Resist range which is a collection of anti-aging products designed to prevent and alleviate signs of aging. I've been using the cleanser morning and night and the toner just in the morning, as I have to apply my BHA Liquid at night. I seriously cannot sleep if Ive not applied it!

RESIST Optimal Results Hydrating Cleanser £17.75

"RESIST Optimal Results Hydrating Cleanser is the first step in your RESIST aging routine. This elegant cleansing lotion instantly softens your skin as it removes makeup. Best of all, your skin’s barrier function is preserved and enhanced as you cleanse. A healthier skin barrier means your skin can repair damage to help you look younger!"

This is an all in one cleanser, it can be used not only on the face to remove make up but also on the eye area as it's really gentle. Its slightly different to most cream cleansers, as they are normally applied straight to dry skin, but with this you need to splash your face with a little water first before applying. There is no scent to the product at all and once applied and rubbed in circular motions, I can see it really working and breaking up my foundation etc. I have used it on my eyes and it was very effective at removing all my eye make up, although I do prefer to use a seperate eye make up remover, when Im not feeling lazy that is. I always use a muslin cloth with any cleanser Im using and after wiping my whole face once, this cleanser removes every inch of make up. If I go over my face again a second time, my cloth is virtually clean, so it really does do a fantastic job of getting rid of all my make up and grime. After using constantly day and night for a few weeks now, it's not caused my skin to dry out or caused me to breakout. Ive just had the pleasure of having nice clear and soft skin.

RESIST Advanced Replenishing Toner Skin Remodeling Complex £19.95

"RESIST Advanced Replenishing Toner is our most state-of-the-art toner. Everything about it is designed to provide superior benefits to aging skin. From the first application your skin is smoother, softer, and visibly radiant. See redness and signs of irritation vanish, and with ongoing use, you will see fewer wrinkles and a beautifully healthy skin tone".

For years I never really understood the need for a toner. I never thought that using one would have any extra benefits to my skin, but that all changed once I read Caroline's post on Toners. This woman knows her stuff and when I have skin issues she is always someone I turn to for help. The Resist toner is very different from any toner Ive previously used. My previous toners have always been clear water like liquids but this is a milky white thick liquid.

Once applied onto the skin, it feels like Im applying a thin moisturiser, rather than a toner and it sinks into the skin completely, instead of just resting on top. After use my skin instantly feels softer and smoother, it doesn't feel like Ive applied a toner, which can sometimes tighten the skin, it feels like its been moisturised. The again though this isn't a standard toner, it's packed with some serious skin loving ingredients and Antioxidants which really nourish the skin. Its definitely the best toner Ive used to date.

I would without a doubt recommend both the cleanser and the toner and think they could be really beneficial if you have sensitive skin and find many anti aging products a little too harsh. Both products are a pleasure to use and its a pleasure seeing how much my skin has benefited from using both the cleanser and the toner together for the past few weeks.

Both products can be purchased online at Paula's Choice UK.

Yep, you read the title correctly. Let me introduce you to Vaselines NEW Lip Therapy with a hint of Marmite!!

You've got to admit, the standard Lip Balms can get a bit boring, the same old same old. Mint, Strawberry, Vanilla... well now we've got Marmite! This exciting new flavour comes following over a decade of in-depth research, it was clear the ‘yeast extract’ lip care market was not being catered for. So the lip experts at Vaseline and flavour junkies at Marmite have finally joined forces to create a mouthwatering new flavour. One that you are either going to love or you're going to hate!

I've already got my dirty little paws on a sample and its well...... different! I've had to hide it from Anton, in case he decides to try and spread it on a piece of bread. I seriously wouldn't put that past my child.

More information on this limited edition mouthwatering or gut wrenching Vaseline Marmite (RRP £1.99)  which will be available from 1st April (today!) can be found exclusively on facebook.com/Vaseline

So what do you think Ladies? will you be purchasing??
