Review - No.7 Protect and Perfect Intense Beauty Serum.

Now you're all probably wondering, how can she do a review on this when shes only had the product since Christmas day.Well this is not my first tube, as Ive mentioned in previous post, this is my HG serum, Ive used it for a few years now on and off, basically when Ive got the pennies to afford it ha. Although this is actually the first time Ive used the intense version. I still feel I can do this review as Ive been using the intense version daily since Christmas day and basically its just the same as the normal version.

I suppose this serum first became famous and became the serum everyone wanted to try, when it was featured on a BBC2 Horizon programme in March 2007. Researchers from the University of Manchester say it could be just as, if not more, effective than products that are only available from doctors on prescription. It was said to be more effective than products such as La Prairie anti-wrinkle products, priced at over £200 for a smaller amount than the No7 serum. Sales of the so called wonder serum increased by nearly 2000% on the day the program was screened, with 13 being sold every minute.

The intense serum is a richer version of the original Protect & Perfect Beauty Serum. It comes in either a 30ml glass pump action bottle or a 30ml tube. I always found it was hard to get the remainders out of the glass bottle, so I opted for the tube.

As with most serums, it is a thick white liquid, and is fragrance free.

What Boots say:  No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Beauty Serum 30ml is proven to restore skin’s structure and appearance.

Independently proven to restore the skin’s structure, visibly improving deep lines and wrinkles by up to 50% with regular use. The first product proven to restore the skin's structure with prolonged use. So effective that other people can see a significant visible improvement in your deep lines and wrinkles.

Immediately improving skin’s radiance after the first application, this rich, velvety, No7 Intense anti-ageing serum glides onto the skin.

After 4 weeks, the appearance of lines and wrinkles is reduced by up to 50%.

Skin structure is weakened in older and sun damaged skin, encouraging loss of elasticity and causing wrinkles. After 6 months of use, the skin is shown to rebuild and over time elasticity is improved and deep wrinkles are visibly reduced.

■Hypo-allergenic

■Dermalogically tested.

What Jo says: Oh how I have missed having this in my life. As soon as I apply it I can tell the difference with cheaper Serums and know why I always come back to this when my pennies permit me to. As soon as I apply it, it blends into my skin and sinks in instantly and makes my skin feel extremely soft. Now as I'm only 28, I don't really have any fine lines or wrinkles to fight, so for me its more of a preventative measure. It has been extensively researched and tested and has been proved to actually work. Many products claim to fight the signs of aging and repair skin damage, but this is the only one that I know of that has been through intensive testing, both by scientist and members of the public and has proved its claims that it does infact work. As mentioned in previous reviews of Serum, it is not a replacement for moisturiser, you do need to use a moisturiser too, so it can work out a little expensive. Some people also see it as a bit of a hassle applying a serum before a moisturiser, but I see it as you have to put effort into your skincare routine to be able to see the rewards.

Overall: I cannot recommend the use of this serum enough, not only does it instantly soften  the skin, I find my skin becomes more radiant looking, more plumper, more clearer. If you want to prevent the signs of aging, or if you want to try and repair damage that has already been done, sun damage for example, then I would give this a go. It is costly at £19.75 for a 30ml tube, but you don't need to use a great amount so a tube should last you quite a few weeks.

Thanks for reading Ladies...

  4. I am really tempted to try this with my boots points...always try and use them of 'treat' products I don't normally buy. Just wondered how the 'intense' serum compares to the 'normal' serum?

  7. @ Lou - Yeah you should defo give them samples a whirl hunny.

@ Sarah - Yeah, Ive stopped using that Olay night one too.

@ Vex - Give it a try babe, doubt you'll be dissapointed, even if the effects take a while, you know its a product that actually works.

@ Amy - Ive found no difference up to now between the normal and the intense, they are both the same price too, so I'd go for the intense.

@ Fei - np hunny, pick some up!!!

@ Jen - Don't think I've ever seen it on offer hunny, except from when theres like 3 for 2 on No.7.

  11. Hi, I saw your review for the Boots No 7 Protect & Perfect intensive serum and wanted it tell you about my experience...I started to use the serum and shortly afterwards came out in angry red spots. I immediately stopped using the cream imagining the spots would eventually clear up but two months later I still have what can only be described as terrible acne on my cheeks and jawline. This is very distressing, particularly as the spots are painful, difficult to conceal with make-up and show no sign of clearing up!
I don't have a history of sensitive skin and have never had a reaction like it before. It sounds like a lot of people have used the product with great results but I thought I would tell you about my experience!
