Regular readers will remember that around a month or so ago I purchased Aldi's Lacura Anti Aging Serum, named by some as the best budget serum.
This £3.49 serum came first place in the Intensive anti-ageing serums category of a beauty survey, beating the likes of Boots No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Beauty Serum priced at £20.50, which came second and Avon Anew Clinical Dermaful x3 Facial Filling Serum priced at £28, which came third.
The survey was carried out by 1,000 women who tested 2,000 products. The creams being tested were put into plain containers and each product was tested by ten different women. The women were then asked to mark each product out of ten. They were asked whether they had noticed an anti-aging benefit, whether friends and family had noticed any difference, and whether they would buy the product again
The skincare range at Aldi has previously hit the headlines when a study by Channel 4's show How To Look Good Naked, asked 100 women to blind test a range of popular face creams including Aldi Siana Skin Kind Nourishing Anti-Wrinkle Night Cream priced at £1.89. The cream was voted the joint best skincare product, together with Lancome's luxury night cream, which costs £51 a pot. How shocking is it that a cream priced at £1.89 can rival a cream costing over 50 quid!
Anyway back to the Serum. Containing ingredients such as Shea butter, Macadamia Nut Oil and vitamins C and E, Aldi claims its these ingredients which help smooth out wrinkles and improve the elasticity of the skin.
Ive been using the Serum twice daily now for just over a month and can tell you Im extremely pleased with the results. For £3.49 this is indeed the best facial serum I have ever used! and Im a woman who has a huge love for No.7's Protect and Perfect and have bought it continuously for years. I think its safe to say I wont be going back to paying over £20 for a serum again.
My skin in general is looking significantly firmer, Ive had no problems with my cheeks getting dry which I normally suffer with, my pores appear reduced. Overall the whole look and feel of my skin has improved greatly and is a lot smoother and softer. I have no problem with the texture of the product either. Its very light and penetrates deep into my skin, leaving no greasy after feel. It also smells gorgeous, which is a bonus.
I normally use a serum before I apply my moisturiser, but Ive been using this sometimes just on its own, when Im in a rush and not putting any moisturiser on over the top like normal. It keep my skins soft and moisturised all day long and like I said previously, Ive had no trouble with dry patches appearing.
Overall I really think this is a fantastic product and the price is equally fantastic. If purchased you will be adding a worthwhile product to your beauty regime, for the small price of £3.49.
